Sarah Pidgeon is excited to be embarking on a new journey.
As a devoted fan, I’m excited to share that the actress who starred in “I Know What You Did Last Summer” has given us a glimpse into her experience portraying Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy alongside Paul Kelly, who played John F Kennedy Jr., in Ryan Murphy’s upcoming series, “American Love Story.
Sarah shared with TopMob News that we are only beginning, and she is thrilled about it. The experience has been exhilarating so far. She feels deeply honored to assume this role and delve into the life story of such an extraordinary woman who has persevered for nearly 25 years.
She expressed how extraordinarily significant it feels for her to join the lasting impact of JFK Jr. and Carolyn, who sadly perished in a private plane accident back in 1999. In her words, she is deeply thankful for this opportunity.
Regarding those criticizing Sarah’s costumes during filming, she remains unfazed by the criticism. In fact, she invites her critics to wait and witness her portrayal of the late publicist, who was known for her minimalistic fashion sense in the ’90s, before passing judgment.
Sarah added, “I can’t wait for them to see it.”
A highly anticipated project she’s eager for the public to witness is none other than the 2025 re-imagining of “I Know What You Did Last Summer,” set to premiere in theaters on July 18. This thriller also features the talented actors Madelyn Cline, Chase Sui Wonders, Tyriq Withers, and Jonah Hauer King.
In the horror movie, both Freddie Prinze Jr. and Jennifer Love Hewitt will reprise their roles as Ray Bronson and Julia James. This return made the acting experience within this franchise feel particularly meaningful for the actress.
As she explained, “Having their blessing really meant a lot.”
She remarked during their shared interview with Sarah, “Freddie Prinze Jr. and Jennifer Love Hewitt are incredibly kind individuals,” and her words effectively alleviated any apprehension we initially felt because they’re so warm, accessible, and gracious.
As you anticipate the release of “American Love Story” and “I Know What You Did Last Summer,” here’s some interesting information about the Kennedy family for you to explore in the meantime.
Joseph Patrick “Joe” Kennedy married Rose Elizabeth Fitzgerald on Oct. 7, 1914.
By 1932, they had a total of nine children: Joseph P. Kennedy Jr., John F. Kennedy, Rosemary Kennedy, Kathleen Kennedy, Eunice Kennedy, Patricia Kennedy, Robert F. Kennedy, Jean Kennedy, and Edward Kennedy.
Born July 25, 1915, Joe Jr. was going to be president, as far as his father was concerned.
He was set to attend the Democratic National Convention in 1940 and had intentions of seeking a seat in Congress following his Navy service. However, tragically, he along with his fellow pilot, Wilford John Willy, lost their lives on August 12, 1944. This unfortunate event occurred when the explosives they were transporting accidentally detonated during a bombing mission that was part of Operation Aphrodite.
The bodies of neither pilot were found, and they are listed among the missing on the Tablets of Remembrance at the American Cemetery and Memorial in Cambridge, which honors casualties from World War II.
Born on May 29, 1917, it was John who managed to secure a seat in Congress. Later, he advanced to the position of U.S. senator, and eventually, he was chosen as the president in 1960.
On September 12, 1953, he tied the knot with Jacqueline Bouvier, and they were blessed with a daughter named Caroline Kennedy on November 27, 1957, followed by their son, John F. Kennedy Jr., who was born on November 25, 1960.
In the year 1956, a baby girl named Arabella was tragically stillborn, while Patrick, their son, who arrived prematurely on August 7, 1963, survived for just 39 hours.
JFK was assassinated on Nov. 22, 1963, one of the defining events of the 20th century.
During the Obama administration, Caroline held the position of U.S. ambassador to Japan, and in the Biden administration, she served as the ambassador to Australia. In 1986, she tied the knot with Edwin “Ed” Schlossberg.
They have three children: Rose Kennedy Schlossberg, born on June 25, 1988; Tatiana Kennedy Schlossberg, born on May 5, 1990; and John “Jack” Bouvier Kennedy Schlossberg, born in January 1993.
TV producer Rose went to Harvard like her mom and married restaurateur Rory McAuliffe in 2022.
In 2014, journalist Tatiana published an article about a deceased bear discovered in Central Park without realizing that her cousin, RFK Jr., was connected to the story. Fast forward to 2017, she graduated from Yale and married her college sweetheart, George Moran. Their family expanded with the birth of their son, Edwin Jr., in 2022.
Jack, an alumnus of Yale University, graduate of Harvard’s joint JD/MBA program, and well-known for his humorous posts on social media, delivered a speech at the 2024 Democratic National Convention. He also served as a political commentator for Vogue magazine, covering the latest presidential election.
In the interview with Vogue in 2024, I shared that my family’s tradition of public service has left a profound impression on me. This is something I hold dear, and I am determined to add my own chapter. While I harbor grand aspirations, I am mindful that every little action counts towards making a difference right now.
In 1988, a man who later became known as “People’s Sexiest Man Alive” was regarded as one of the most sought-after bachelors globally. After marrying Calvin Klein publicist Carolyn Bessette on September 21, 1996, he tied the knot.
Tragically, John F. Kennedy Jr., who frequently brought sorrow to his family, passed away prematurely, just like his father. His life’s promise was tragically cut short when he and Carolyn, along with her sister Lauren Bessette, perished in a plane crash on July 16, 1999.
Rosemary (at right, with sister Kathleen and mom Rose) was born Sept. 13, 1918.
At a unique boarding school designed for children facing learning challenges, Rosemary struggled behaviorally. Her dad eventually chose to have her undergo a prefrontal lobotomy at the age of 23 due to these issues.
After the experimental treatment, which was believed to be a possible remedy for mental illness (and Joe had high hopes it would aid her), Rosemary ended up severely impaired and spent the remainder of her life (until January 7, 2005) in an institution.
Years later, Rose shared with historian Doris Kearns Goodwin that she had long assumed she could have led a life similar to a Kennedy woman, at a slightly slower pace. However, everything changed within just a few minutes.
Born Feb. 20, 1920, Kathleen got a kick out of life, hence her jaunty nickname.
On May 6, 1944, she got married in a civil ceremony in London, not to just any man, but to William Cavendish, the Marquess of Hartington. However, this was against her mother’s wishes because her fiancé wasn’t Catholic, and only her brother Joe Jr. chose to be present at their wedding.
A month later, William, a major in the British Army, was killed by a sniper in Belgium.
She stayed in England and developed feelings for William Wentworth-Fitzwilliam, the 8th Earl Fitzwilliam who was still married at the time. Before he could obtain a divorce, they tragically passed away together when the plane transporting them to the French Riviera crashed on May 13, 1948.
Eunice was born July 10, 1921.
In 1953, on May 23rd, the passionate benefactor and creator of the Special Olympics exchanged wedding vows with Robert Sargent Shriver Jr.
The Shivers had five offspring: Robert “Bobby” Shriver III (born on April 28, 1954), Maria Shriver (born November 6, 1955), Timothy (born August 29, 1959), Mark (born February 17, 1964) and Anthony (born July 20, 1965).
When Eunice passed away at the age of 88, she had 19 grandchildren among them were Maria’s four children with her former spouse Arnold Schwarzenegger: Katherine (born on December 13, 1989), Patrick (September 18, 1993), Christina (July 23, 1991) and Christopher (September 27, 1997).
On April 24, 1954, Patricia, born on May 6, 1924, tied the knot with Peter Lawford, thereby incorporating the Rat Pack into her family.
In her marriage with a British actor, she gave birth to four children: Christopher Lawford (born in 1955), Sydney Maleia Lawford (1956), Victoria Francis Lawford (1958), and Robin Elizabeth Lawford, before the divorce occurred in 1966.
Peter, who passed away in 1984, was a trusted confidant of his brother-in-law JFK and is often acknowledged for being the one who introduced the future president to Marilyn Monroe during a trip to the Lawfords’ residence in Malibu.
In the year 2006, Patricia sadly lost her life. Subsequently, her third husband, Christopher, endured a heart attack and passed away in 2018.
On June 17, 1950, the nationally recognized figure, Bobby Kennedy, tied the knot with Ethel Skakel.
the marriage of Bobby Kennedy (who was well-known throughout the country) to Ethel Skakel.
This family grew their brood to include eleven children: Kathleen, Joseph II, Robert Jr., David, Courtney, Michael, Kerry, Christopher, Maxwell, Douglas, and Rory.
Ethel was carrying Rory when Bobby was tragically killed on June 6, 1968, not long after he had won the California Democratic primary.
In a tragic turn of events that shook the world of lifestyle and beyond, I, as a compassionate observer and admirer of their impact, find myself compelled to share the stories of two remarkable individuals, David Kennedy and Michael Kennedy.
David Kennedy, a vibrant force in his late twenties, lost his life on April 25, 1984, due to a drug overdose. On the other hand, Michael Kennedy, at the age of 37, met an untimely end on December 31, 1997. During a family vacation in Aspen, Colo, he unfortunately collided with a tree while skiing and was also engaged in playfully tossing a football around.
Both David and Michael shared the beautiful bond of parenthood with their beloved partner, Victoria Gifford. Together, they nurtured and cherished three incredible children. Their lives may have been cut short, but their legacies continue to inspire us all.
Tragedy struck Ethel Kennedy when her husband passed away while their oldest child was just 16. Despite this heartbreaking event, Kennedy became a grandmother to 34 grandchildren. Sadly, two of these grandchildren have left us too soon: Courtney, daughter of Paul Hill, and Saoirse Hill who died at the age of 22 in 2019 due to an accidental drug overdose, and Maeve Kennedy McKean, the daughter of Kathleen and David Townsend, who lost her life in a canoeing accident in 2020 at the age of 40.
RFK Jr., born Jan. 17, 1954, is a thrice-married father of six.
He has a son, Robert Francis “Bobby” Kennedy III (born in 1984), and a daughter, Kathleen “Kick” Kennedy (born in 1988), with his former spouse Emily Black.
They divorced in 1994 after 12 years of marriage.
RFK III has been married to CIA analyst turned author and TV host Amaryllis Fox since 2017.
They have a shared daughter named Bobby (born on January 7, 2019) and a son named Cassius Watts Thoreau Kennedy (born August 30, 2021). Amaryllis also has a daughter named Zoë from a past relationship.
In simpler terms, the Stanford alum expressed in 2012 that he often expresses life is a mix of various experiences, some pleasant and some challenging, and the more diverse these experiences are, the richer one’s life becomes.
In August 2024, mentioning Ben Affleck casually, according to a source, catapulted Kick Kennedy to the top of the trending list, following news of Jennifer Lopez filing for divorce from the actor.
Affleck’s representatives swiftly dismissed rumors of a romantic involvement, clarifying to TopMob News that all reports about him and Kick are false.
So nothing about being a Kennedy had really changed in a decade. Or a century.
She shared with T&C, “Often people inquire about my experience as a Kennedy,” she said. “Sometimes it feels like swimming in familiar waters, but I still find myself saying, ‘I honestly can’t tell you.’ When I come across my likeness or name in the gossip columns, a knot forms in my stomach. It’s not about me; it’s reading something that doesn’t resonate with who I truly am.
She shared a strong connection with the aunt she was named after, who passed away two years prior to her father’s birth.
“It’s funny how similar we are,” Kick mused. “She was fun and social and a performer in many ways.”
RFK Jr., in 1994, wed Mary Richardson, and together they had four children: Conor Richardson Kennedy (born on July 25), Kyra LeMoyne Kennedy (August 22), William Finbar “Finn” Kennedy (November 8), and Aidan Caohman Vieques Kennedy (July 13).
The couple were legally separated when Mary died by suicide in 2012.
Father and sons: Conor, Aidan and RFK III.
Since becoming well-known at the age of 18 as a Harvard student, Conor has generally kept a low key lifestyle, despite his high-profile activism and other achievements. Notably, he also introduced Taylor Swift to his family.
Conor’s brief romantic affair endured for just a few months, after which he proceeded to attend and graduate from Georgetown Law School. However, their story managed to make headlines.
“Taylor Swift’s ex Conor Kennedy” is now engaged to singer Giulia Be.
Kyra, a regular among the high-fashion set, lives in Milan.
In a video released on August 27, 2024, which was a joint production with Elle and Bvlgari, she stated that she is currently engaged in a tribute project dedicated to her deceased mother.
She wonders if she’s gone through a transformative phase in her life. Indeed, she has. From being a child, she was quite different, and as she grew into adulthood, she underwent a significant change, almost turning completely around.
RFK Jr. married Curb Your Enthusiasm star Cheryl Hines in 2014.
The actress shares daughter Catherine Young (born March 8, 2004) with ex-husband Paul Young.
On Instagram for Father’s Day in 2018, Kick expressed gratitude by saying, “Thank you for providing me with such a bunch of quirky siblings!
Ethel Kennedy, along with Robert F. Kennedy, has a seventh child who has three daughters – twin girls Mariah Kennedy-Cuomo and Cara Kennedy-Cuomo (born in 1995), as well as Michaela Kennedy-Cuomo (born in 1997). These daughters were born to her former husband, Andrew Cuomo.
Andrew, the former New York governor (serving from 2011 to 2021), tied the knot with Kerry back in 1990. However, their marriage ended in 2003 when they decided to separate, and they eventually divorced in 2005.
Born on February 20, 1928, Jean was the eighth out of nine children of Joe and Rose. She established the VSA Kennedy Arts Center and served as the United States Ambassador to Ireland during the Clinton presidency.
On May 19, 1956, she got married to Stephen Edward Smith, a campaign strategist for JFK’s presidency. Together they had four children: Stephen Smith Jr., William Smith, Amanda Smith, and Kym Smith.
Jean died June 17, 2020, having outlived all of her siblings.
Senator Ted Kennedy, who was often more scandalous than 90% of his family combined, had three children with his first wife Joan Bennett: Kara Kennedy (born on February 27, 1960), Edward Kennedy Jr. (born on September 26, 1961) and Patrick Kennedy II (born on July 14, 1967).
He and Joan divorced in 1982 after 24 years of marriage and he wed Victoria Reggie in 1992.
Kara suffered a fatal heart attack on Sept. 16, 2011, two years after her father died.
