Trinity Rodman is issuing a red card to one specific reference.
Following a Wimbledon commentator referencing her association with retired basketball legend Dennis Rodman, she forcefully rejected the mention of the NBA champion and emphasized that she prefers the attention to be solely on her boyfriend Ben Shelton’s experience in the renowned tennis competition.
In the post on her July 7 Instagram Story, Trinity expressed that unlike Ben who has his family present as his support system during his matches, she doesn’t have her dad involved in her life. She also mentioned that it is unnecessary to discuss him during Ben’s games since she doesn’t want any mention of him during hers either.
The Olympic gold medalist, whose mother is Michelle Moyer, expressed gratitude for Ben’s triumph at the tennis Major tournament, saying, “This victory belongs to him and his family. Thank you.
On this occasion, Trinity was clear about her current situation regarding her father, yet it’s not a new topic for her to discuss the tension in her relationship with the retired basketball legend.
In a December episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast hosted by Alex Cooper, she expressed that he isn’t a father figure in any sense, although they might share a biological connection.
In discussing our father’s situation, Trinity noted that she and her brother have been open, considerate, and selfless about their conversations. She believes they strive to avoid portraying him negatively, which sometimes means holding back and not sharing all the hardships and traumatic experiences they’ve endured together.
And still, the 23-year-old struggles with the complexity of her and Dennis’ dynamic.
She stated, “I’m currently striving to be truthful and show him compassion, but it’s aggravating for me since I believe he’s incredibly self-centered. In my opinion, he’s always made things about himself.
Throughout the match, despite an unpleasant comment made about him, Trinity has consistently stood by Ben – her confirmed romantic partner from March – as he progressed to the second week of Wimbledon. Notably, Emma Shelton, Ben’s sister, was also present, mentioned by Ben himself during a post-victory interview.
As a devoted follower, I shared that my sister was present with me during every single match I played. She’s been the one who brought me luck all along. However, beginning on Monday, she must return to her job in the United States, as she works for Morgan Stanley.
In a jovial manner, he proposed to the audience, “Should anyone here have some influential contacts who might grant her an extension of a few days off, it would be wonderful if we could use that time to continue our momentum together.
Following his request, Ben posted on his Instagram Story on July 6th that his sister had been given additional time off from work to assist him.
