Please be aware that this article contains spoilers from the Jujutsu Kaisen manga. Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 is scheduled to premiere in January as part of the Winter 2026 anime season, and it will focus on what happens after the devastating Shibuya Incident Arc. When sorcerers learned that Satoru Gojo had been sealed, they rushed into battle, but without their strongest ally, they couldn’t defeat the villains and suffered many losses. The arc culminates in Ryomen Sukuna destroying much of Shibuya, resulting in thousands of deaths. The second season concluded in December 2023 with a major cliffhanger, introducing Yuta Okkotsu – a powerful sorcerer and the star of the prequel movie – into the main storyline.
Yuta’s sudden appearance and immediate attempt to kill Yuji Itadori has surprised everyone, and his motives are still a mystery. The new season will begin with the Extermination Arc, where Yuta is tasked with eliminating Yuji as agreed upon with his superiors. After that, the story will shift to the Perfect Preparation Arc, highlighting Maki Zenin, and then finally move into the long-awaited Culling Game. Despite the exciting events planned, these three story arcs may leave some fans feeling disappointed.
3) Yuki’s Death Is Still One of the Most Disappointing Moments in Jujutsu Kaisen

Despite being a powerful and highly anticipated sorcerer, Yuki Tsukumo’s death felt surprisingly flat. The author missed a chance to really explore her personality, motivations – which sharply opposed Kenjaku’s – and her fascinating dream. She was killed by Kenjaku during the Culling Game while fighting alongside other sorcerers, but her death felt rushed and unsatisfying. It left many readers feeling frustrated that a character with so much potential was essentially removed from the story without getting the development or closure she deserved.
2) Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Won’t Reveal Nobara’s Fate

During the Shibuya Incident, Nobara received a head injury that should have been fatal after being attacked by Mahito. Although Arata Nitta, a sorcerer who doesn’t fight, managed to temporarily stop her bleeding and get her medical attention, her injuries were extremely serious. He admitted that saving her was unlikely, and cautioned Yuji not to get his hopes up. While the manga eventually reveals Nobara’s fate, this information isn’t shown until much later in the story. As a result, Season 3 of the anime won’t offer closure on Nobara’s storyline, leaving viewers who only watch the anime unaware of what happened to her.
1) Gojo Won’t Be a Part of the Culling Game

Satoru Gojo is incredibly popular among anime fans, so viewers are always eager to see what happens with his character. He has a unique and powerful presence in the story, unlike anyone else. Unfortunately, after being trapped, Gojo won’t be back in action for a while. While Season 3 of Jujutsu Kaisen will show some scenes of him, these will mostly be memories or extra content created specifically for the anime. He doesn’t fully return until after the Culling Game arc concludes, when the story moves into its final stage and the ultimate battle begins.
