
Drew Barrymore is giving a glimpse into her health.
The talk show host recently had a frightening experience after her yearly mammogram showed something concerning, and she described the stress of undergoing further testing to investigate.
Drew Barrymore recently faced a health scare and decided to share her experience on her show. She explained on the November 3rd episode that while she’s now okay, she received concerning results from a mammogram which led doctors to call her in for further examination.
She added, “Then I had an emergency biopsy and I waited those five days.”
Her guest Tig Notaro, who is a breast cancer survivor, noted, “It’s a long wait.”
Drew has long been a strong advocate for cancer screenings. Last October, she even filmed her own mammogram to encourage viewers to face their fears and get checked.
Wearing a hospital gown, actress Drew Barrymore announced she was getting a mammogram. A technician helped her through the X-ray process, explaining what was happening along the way.

In 2023, Ross shared with the audience, while holding Drew’s hand, how much he loved his mom. He remembered she always laughed at his jokes, and he spoke with admiration about her courageous and graceful battle with illness. Sadly, she passed away in 2020, shortly before he and Drew met.
Being close to her during that time taught me invaluable lessons. It was a deeply painful experience, but I also learned a lot about resilience, the importance of family, and the power of love. I was amazed by her strength, and my love for her – which continues to this day – grew even stronger. I truly cherish the time we had together.
