Okay, One Piece fans, get ready! I’m so excited to share that the Elbaph Arc – which we’ve all been waiting for – is finally coming to the anime in April 2026! It’s been a bit of a wait after the recent break, but it sounds like it’ll be worth it. The team is also changing things up with the release schedule – we’ll get 26 episodes a year, split into two parts. I think this is a fantastic move because it gives the animators more time to deliver consistently amazing quality. We’ve seen huge improvements in the animation lately, and it’s tough to maintain that level week after week. Plus, this new pace should help them avoid falling behind the manga, which has been a worry in the past!
The One Piece manga began a new story arc, the Elbaph Arc, with chapter 1126 in September 2024. This arc has introduced new characters and revisited familiar pirates through flashbacks. One of the new characters is Shamrock Figarland, revealed to be Shanks’ older twin brother, who was separated from him during a past event called the God Valley Incident. To celebrate the release of volume 113, a promotional video announced that voice actor Kenjiro Tsuda will be voicing Shamrock. Tsuda is a highly respected actor known for roles like Kento Nanami in Jujutsu Kaisen and Joker in Fire Force. He’s also previously been involved with One Piece, voicing Vinsmoke Yonji, Sanji’s brother, during the Whole Cake Island arc.
Shamrock Figarland Is One of the Most Crucial Villains in One Piece’s Elbaph Arc

Shamrock and Gunko landed on the island with one goal: to defeat Elbaph. The World Government has always wanted to control the strongest race, and with war looming, they’re ready to act now. Shamrock, the commander of the Holy Knights, is incredibly strong. He shares the same teleportation abilities as the Five Elders and likely possesses their regenerative powers as well. Like his father and brother, he’s a skilled swordsman, but his sword is unique – it’s powered by a Devil Fruit.
We’ve seen characters eat Devil Fruits before in the series, but Shamrock’s fruit is exceptionally powerful, making him a serious threat. After ordering the other Holy Knights to capture the children and force the Giants to give up, he departs the island. Just as the main battle is about to start, the story flashes back to Harald’s past, though he’s likely to reappear later in this storyline. Even with limited screen time so far, Shamrock has generated a lot of discussion since his introduction, largely due to his connection with Shanks and what role he might play in the Final Saga.
