Netflix added a delightful movie sequel to its streaming library this week, completing the entire film series available on the platform. The update, which happened over the weekend as November began, brought dozens of new shows and movies to Netflix, and this sequel has been receiving rave reviews with a nearly perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes. Now, subscribers can enjoy the whole series!
Fans can now enjoy Paddington 2 on Netflix, where it joined Paddington and Paddington in Peru starting November 1st. The movie, directed and co-written by Paul King (along with Simon Farnaby), follows Paddington, the charming bear created by Michael Bond, as he adjusts to life with the Brown family. Trouble arises when Paddington is wrongly accused of a crime and sent to prison. Ben Whishaw provides the voice for Paddington, and the film features a stellar cast including Hugh Bonneville, Sally Hawkins, Brendan Gleeson, Julie Walters, Jim Broadbent, Peter Capaldi, and Hugh Grant. It was released in 2017, just three years after the first Paddington movie.
Why You Should Watch Paddington 2
If you enjoyed the first Paddington movie, you’ll love Paddington 2. It’s a fantastic sequel that’s just as good, making it a perfect choice for a family movie night – everyone will enjoy it! The movie quickly captures your attention with its beautiful, storybook-like visuals and keeps you entertained with a charmingly quirky story about kindness, bravery, and friendship. It strikes a great balance between humor that adults will appreciate and silly gags that kids will love, all brought to life by a talented cast, including a particularly memorable performance by Hugh Grant as the villain.
For a time, Paddington 2 was the highest-rated movie of all time on Rotten Tomatoes, but a single negative review brought its critic score down slightly from a perfect 100% to 99%. It still holds the record as the best-rated film in the Paddington series, and audiences also love it, giving it an 89% rating. Some have even playfully called it the “Citizen Kane of talking bear movies” because of its consistently high scores and enduring popularity. Released eight years ago, Paddington 2 continues to be a favorite and a fantastic sequel to the original Paddington film.
What’s New on Netflix?
Netflix added a lot of new movies and shows at the beginning of November. Along with popular choices like Paddington 2, families can now enjoy The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part and Wonka. Other new additions include hits such as Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, Back to the Future, Crazy Rich Asians, Elvis, The Hangover, Ocean’s 8, and Tyler Perry’s A Madea Christmas.
