Gerry Turner, star of The Golden Bachelor, has admitted he had some doubts before marrying Theresa Nist. However, he says those doubts weren’t strong enough to make him want to cancel their televised wedding.
“It was more like cold feet,” Turner recently told TopMob News’ Francesca Amiker. “It’s normal to have some doubts right before making a big commitment. I definitely had some, but they didn’t reach the point where I wanted to call everything off.”
Gerry, 74, and Theresa, 72, found love on the first season of The Golden Bachelor, which premiered in September 2023. Both were looking for a second chance after losing their spouses of over 40 years â Gerryâs wife Toni and Theresaâs husband Billy. After getting engaged in November 2023 and announcing plans for a quick wedding, they realized they had some relationship issues that needed addressing.
Looking back, I realize we should have recognized the warning signs earlier,” Gerry said. “Both Theresa and I were people who always kept their promises. Sheâd been married to Billy for over 40 years, and Iâd been with Toni for 43, so we both believed our word was important.”
He continued, “When we decided to pursue a relationship, we were determined to make it work. We wanted to really get to know each other and figure out what we needed to do to succeed. Ultimately, it didnât work out, but we genuinely tried.”

In his new memoir, Golden Years, Gerry Turner shares details about the difficulties he and Theresa Nist faced in their relationship. He explains that Theresa initially talked about retiring from her job in financial services, but then changed her mind. Having already retired himself, Gerry worried they wouldnât have enough time for travel and fun activities with her still working.
They also disagreed about where to live â Theresa from New Jersey and Gerry from Indiana considered South Carolina but couldnât find a home they both liked. Differences in their lifestyles and Gerryâs frustration with the delay in signing their prenuptial agreement added to the tension. The night before the wedding, Gerry confided in Golden Bachelor contestant Faith Martin, telling her he felt the wedding was a mistake and that he felt trapped.
Despite his doubts, Gerry went through with the wedding because he didnât want to disappoint anyone.

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve seen relationships play out publicly, and this one is particularly sad. You might remember Gerry and Theresa, who announced their divorce on Good Morning America just a few months after getting married â it was finalized in June 2024. But it seems they donât agree on what actually happened. Recently, Theresa released a statement to the Sheâs All Bach podcast expressing her disappointment with how Gerry has portrayed their split in his book. She says heâs misrepresenting their conversations and the events that led to their divorce, and sheâs questioning whether itâs a matter of him simply misremembering things or intentionally exaggerating for dramatic effect. She had previously decided to remain private out of respect for their families, so itâs understandably upsetting for her to see him share a version of events she feels is inaccurate.
Honestly, it breaks my heart to think about how unhappy he was before we got married. I just wish heâd told me what he was really feeling! I truly believed he loved me, but now I see I was completely fooled. Everything he did when we were alone⊠it all makes sense now. And now, heâs engaged to Lana Sutton? I canât even⊠I guess youâll have to read his book to find out everything else.
Gerry and Theresa publicly announced their divorce on Good Morning America in April 2024, just three months after getting married, and it was finalized that June. However, they disagree about how he portrayed the reasons for their split in his book. Theresa recently told the Sheâs All Bach podcast that Gerryâs account of their conversations and his descriptions of her are inaccurate, suggesting he either misremembered events or exaggerated them for dramatic effect.
She shared that it was heartbreaking to learn how lonely and stuck he felt before their wedding. She wishes he had been upfront with her, admitting she thought he loved her but now realizes he misled her. She says his private behavior now seems clearer.
Now that Gerry is engaged to Lana Sutton, stay tuned for updates on other Bachelor Nation couples.

It looks like things are still going strong for Andrew Spencer (from Katie Thurstonâs season of Paradise) and Alexe Godin (from Grantâs season) after the show. Just six days after Andrew publicly called Alexe his âloveâ on Instagram in August 2025, she reciprocated, calling him her âsweetheartâ in a post of her own.
Although they chose to pursue their relationship instead of taking the $250,000 prize on the Bachelor in Paradise finale, they each still received $125,000.
âThis is incredible,â Alexe exclaimed. âIâm leaving with money, but more importantly, with love.â
The show then revealed that Alexe and Andrew are moving to Chicago together to build their life and relationship.

Kat, however, denied contacting him while on the show, explaining she and her ex hadnât officially broken up because she didnât expect to find someone new.
Although Kat and Dale didn’t make it to the final rose ceremony, their relationship continued to grow. After the show, they traveled the U.S. together and started making plans for the future, including potentially moving closer to each other. Kat was originally on Zach Shallcrossâ season, and Dale was a contestant on Clare Crawleyâs.
Dale wrote under Katâs August 2025 Instagram post, ‘It wasn’t always easy, but we got through it together, and I wouldn’t trade the experience for anything.’

Status: Just friendsâfor nowÂ
After leaving season 10 of Bachelor in Paradise, Gary Levingston and Leslie Fhima (who was a finalist on Golden Bachelor) seemed optimistic about a future together, even sharing a video about making new memories. However, Leslie, who once inspired musician Prince, isn’t certain she wants a romantic relationship with Gary.
She shared that she and Gary talk constantly. Appearing on Bachelor Happy Hour in August 2025, she described him as one of her closest friends, someone she can always rely on for support. She explained that he helps calm her down when sheâs stressed, and they consistently support each other.
I’ve been following their story, and even though they’re miles apart â she’s in Minnesota and he’s all the way in California â I really admire her outlook. She hasn’t lost faith at all! Sheâs said that for her, the most important thing in any relationship, especially a romantic one, is building a strong friendship first. She wants to be with someone she genuinely considers her best friend, someone she can grow old with, and I think that’s beautiful.

Status: Just friends
Kim Buike, a frontrunner on Golden Bachelorette, connected with Faith Martin, who received the first impression rose on Gerry Turnerâs season. Joan Vassos, who was a contestant on The Golden Bachelor and later became the first-ever Golden Bachelorette, is engaged! After appearing on Gerry Turnerâs season and choosing to leave early, Joan found love while hosting The Golden Bachelorette and accepted a proposal from contestant Chock Chapple.
During the November 2024 finale of The Golden Bachelorette, Joan shared a message of hope, saying, “We’re proof that even later in life, things can still turn around.” Moments before Chock proposed in Bora Bora, she told him, “I’ve waited for this moment, in this beautiful place, to tell you I love you, and I want to spend the rest of my life with youâwaking up with you and kissing you goodnight.”

At the end of season 21 of The Bachelorette, it seemed like Jenn Tran, who previously appeared on The Bachelor, had found love with Devin Strader. However, during the After the Final Rose episode in September 2024, Jenn shared that Devin abruptly stopped communicating with her once filming concluded.
Jenn explained to Jesse Palmer that he had strongly declared his love for her, but the very next day acted as if it never happened and denied ever having feelings for her. She said all the promises and affection he’d expressed were suddenly gone.
The situation escalated when Devin posted a 13-minute video on Instagram explaining his perspective. In the video, he took responsibility for his actions and detailed the reasons behind the breakup, which he had initially discussed in a 15-minute phone call.
Jenn said he ended their relationship during a phone call in August, but he insists she pressed him for answers when he was trying to tell her in person.
He said he’d been wanting to tell her face-to-face, but she pushed him to reveal it sooner than he’d planned. He felt like he had no other choice.
Jenn then met Sasha Farber while competing on Dancing With the Stars, and they became a couple. Although they were eliminated from the show in October 2024, they continued to dance together for a while before ultimately breaking up in 2025.

Greg Grippo, who appeared on Katie Thurstonâs season of The Bachelorette, began dating Victoria Fuller from Bachelor in Paradise in November 2022. They announced their relationship on the season eight finale of Bachelor in Paradise, but Greg shared in April 2024 that they had broken up.

Before Victoria Fuller and Greg Grippo revealed they were dating after the season finale of Bachelor in Paradise, Victoria had broken off her engagement with fellow cast member Johnny DePhillipo.

Gerry and Theresa Nist got engaged in November 2023 at the end of the first season of The Golden Bachelor and then married in a televised ceremony in January 2024. They are now divorced.
However, three months after their nuptials, the couple announced that they were breaking up.
As many of you know, my wife, Theresa, and I have been doing a lot of soul-searching lately. We’ve really taken a hard look at our lives, and everything that goes with it. After many honest conversations, we’ve both come to the difficult decision to end our marriage. We shared this publicly on Good Morning America in April 2024, and wanted to be upfront about it.
They reached a divorce settlement in June 2024, according to court records reviewed by TopMob News.
In April 2025, Gerry shared on the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast that he was seeing someone and things were progressing nicely.

I was SO thrilled to watch Joey finally get engaged! After meeting so many women, he chose Kelsey Anderson, and it was clear she was the one. He told her how much he loved her right before proposing â it was incredibly sweet! He said she has this amazing energy that just makes him smile, something heâd never felt before. Honestly, watching them together, you could just feel the connection. He even said he always wanted a beautiful life, but meeting Kelsey showed him just how beautiful it could be. It was a perfect ending to his season, and I’m so happy for them both!

John Henry Spurlock, who competed for Charity Lawsonâs affection, and Kat Izzo, a contestant from Zach Shallcrossâ season, found a connection on season nine of Bachelor in Paradise, though it took a while to develop. John Henry proposed with a Neil Lane diamond, telling Kat she was everything he was looking for. However, shortly after the season finale, the couple announced their split. They explained in an Instagram post that their career goals didnât align, but they were thankful for the support they received from family, friends, and fans of The Bachelor franchise.

Eliza Isichei, who previously dated Clayton Echard, is engaged! Despite initial anxieties about finding love again after Paradise, she happily said yes to Aaron Bryantâs proposal by the ocean. She was especially touched that Aaron asked her mother for her blessing, admitting she was overcome with emotion.
However, their engagement didnât last. While the show was still airing, Eliza and Aaron experienced difficulties after returning from Mexico, and they later announced their split.
In a December 2023 Instagram post, Aaron confirmed they were ending their relationship amicably, expressing positivity and mutual respect for each other.

Despite initially being upset that her boyfriend, Aven Jones, hadn’t proposed in a traditional wayâsomething he reportedly considered doing on The Bachelorette with Rachel RecchiaâKylee Russell accepted his proposal to try and make their relationship work after Paradise. Although she had already picked out an engagement dress, she felt she needed to follow her heart, believing that love requires taking chances. However, just two days after the show aired in December 2023, Kylee revealed on social media that the relationship had ended due to Aven’s infidelity. Aven later apologized, admitting he had made significant mistakes and hurt Kylee deeply.

Charity Lawson is thrilled with how her season of The Bachelorette ended! She hinted to TopMob News that things were going well, but her August 2023 finale was even more exciting than she let on. Dotun Olubeko, an integrative medicine specialist, proposed to Charity, a child and family therapist, getting down on one knee and calling their love “perfect.” He asked her to marry him and make their relationship a lasting reality.
Though theyâre planning a wedding for 2025 or 2026, Charity will first be hitting the dance floor on Dancing With the Stars. Dotun surprised her on The Bachelorette: After the Final Rose, revealing, “I know you love to dance, and we’ve talked about this opportunity. I’m so happy to tell you you’re going to be on Dancing With the Stars! Let’s go!”

Zach Shallcross proposed to Kaity Biggar at the end of season 27 in March 2023, despite some challenges along the way. He told her, “I am so in love with you. You are my world. The love I feel for you is something I could have never imagined.” In July 2023, the couple, who are based in Texas, announced they had moved in together.
Kaity and her partner got married on May 23, 2025, in a small, intimate chapel ceremony. They had originally envisioned a bigger wedding, but Kaity realized it wasn’t necessary. As she shared on the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast in June 2025, she wanted to focus on what truly mattered: their love and connection. She felt she was getting too caught up in the minor details and wanted to keep the celebration authentic to their relationship.
However, one thing especially delighted her. Her aunt, who encouraged her to compete for Zach’s affection, discovered the charming chapel near Austin where they held their wedding. “It was exactly what I’d hoped for,” Kaity shared.

Danielle Maltby and Michael Allio, who seemed like a promising couple after meeting on Bachelor in Paradise, have broken up. Despite a strong connection â Danielle had previously experienced a tragic loss with her fiancĂ©, and Michael is a single dad raising his young son James â they decided to go their separate ways after about a year of Danielle moving to Ohio to be with him. Michael explained on a podcast that while they loved each other, they weren’t compatible, and he’s grieving the loss of not just the relationship, but also the future they had planned together.

They explained that trying to work through their issues privately had been very difficult with so much public attention. They shared that the breakup was painful and that they still cared deeply for each other, asking for understanding and kindness.

Pilot Rachel and contractor Tino Franco ended their engagement after he kissed someone else while their season of the show was still being broadcast. Tino later admitted on the podcast The Viall Files that he deeply regrets his actions. He said he doesn’t excuse what he did, that it was unfair to Rachel, and he continues to feel ashamed and wishes he could have handled the situation differently.

Susie Evans and Clayton Echard’s relationship, which began on the 2022 season of The Bachelor, had a complicated journey. After Susie initially turned Clayton down during the finale, they briefly reconnected off-camera, but ultimately broke up after six months. Susie, a videographer based in Los Angeles, has explained that the split was necessary for her own well-being. In a November 2022 blog post, she wrote that she wasnât truly happy and felt out of sync with who she wanted to be, despite having some good times with Clayton.
Okay, so after her time on the show, I was following Susie’s journey, and she actually started dating Justin Glaze from Bachelor Nation! Sadly, they announced their split back in August of 2024. It’s always tough when a relationship doesn’t work out, but they both seem to be doing well now.

Michelle, an elementary school teacher from Minnesota, accepted a proposal and a $200,000 check for a future home from Nayte Olukoya, a sales executive from Texas, after appearing on a reality show. Nayte later admitted on a podcast that their relationship had many issues and that ending things without an in-person conversation was a mistake.

As a longtime fan of Bachelor in Paradise, I was so thrilled when the first same-sex couple got engaged on season six! It was a really special moment. Sadly, they announced their breakup on Halloween in 2019, which was definitely disappointing to hear.
We’ve always cared deeply for each other, and making the best decision for both of us has always been our priority. With love and sadness, we’ve decided to separate so we can both grow as individuals. This is what’s best for our future and for us right now, as shared in a joint statement.

The couple, known for their journey on Bachelor in Paradise and Serenaâs appearance on Matt Jamesâ season, decided to have a small ceremony at City Hall near their home in New York City about a year after getting engaged. Joe, originally from Chicago and known as the ‘Grocery Store Joe,’ first gained attention on Becca Kufrinâs season of The Bachelorette in 2018. Theyâre still planning a larger wedding for September 2023, but Serena joked, ‘Who doesn’t want to get married twice!’ She now co-hosts the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast with her husband.

Kenny Braasch proposed to Mari Pepin with a Neil Lane diamond ring during the 2021 finale of Paradise, telling her, “I am so in love with you and can’t imagine my life without you.” Mari, a beauty queen from Maryland who originally appeared on The Bachelor, moved to Chicago to be with Kenny and they began planning their wedding. Before their November 2023 oceanfront ceremony in Puerto Rico (attended by 65 guests), the couple cemented their bond with matching tattoos during a trip to the Bahamas in May 2023. Kenny was previously eliminated from Paradise by Tayshia Adams in week five.

Status: Married
Becca Kufrin, who starred on The Bachelorette, and Thomas Jacobs, a contestant from Katie Thurstonâs season, found love on season seven of Bachelor in Paradise in 2021. They had a bit of a rocky start, breaking up during filming before getting back together after the show ended.
In May 2022, they announced their engagement, revealing that Becca had proposed. She told TopMob News that she hoped their unconventional approach would encourage others to break traditions. Thomas returned the gesture by proposing to her in October of the same year. In September 2023, they welcomed their son, Benson, with Becca sharing on Instagram how much love and wonder they felt for their “tiny man.”
Just weeks after Benson’s birth, the couple spontaneously tied the knot on October 13th.

In the 2021 finale of The Bachelorette, Katie got engaged to Blake Moynes. They first admitted their feelings for each other during a memorable date that included paintball, a relaxing soak in a cowboy tub, and a heartfelt conversation under the stars.

She has since married comedian Jeff Arcuri.
