Jonathan Bailey Revealed as People’s Sexiest Man Alive 2025

Jonathan Bailey was named People magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive for 2025 during an appearance on the November 3rd episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Oh my gosh, you guys, it was the most amazing thing ever! I was listening to my absolute favorite Bridgerton star on the show, and they said it was a total honor! And get this – they were talking to Jimmy, who, can we just say, is a total snack and was named the Sexiest Game Show Host this year! But the best part? They jokingly thanked Jimmy for not taking the spot so they could be on the show! I seriously died. It was perfection.

Jonathan admitted to trying to casually mention the news to friends before it was officially announced, but they weren’t very interested – they just brushed it off. However, the star of Wicked: For Good understands why; he’s still getting used to the title himself.

He said he was very honored – and also found the whole thing ridiculous – after receiving the award, according to People magazine.

When Jimmy asked if he expected his friends and family to treat him differently, Jonathan jokingly replied, “I really hope they do!”

The 37-year-old has been named the new Sexiest Man Alive, taking the title from last year’s winner, John Krasinski, who was surprised to receive it.

She described the moment as a complete blank. ‘Honestly, I didn’t think about anything,’ she told People magazine in 2024. ‘Except maybe that someone was playing a joke on me.’

As the star of The Office playfully said, “I never thought I’d wake up wondering if I’d be named Sexiest Man Alive. But today was the day! You’ve really set a high standard for me.”

John wasn’t the only one delighted by the honor. His wife, Emily Blunt, and their daughters, Hazel (11) and Violet (9), were also very excited. Emily joked that she was going to cover their Brooklyn home with the magazine cover featuring him.

John joked, “Was that recorded? Because that feels like a promise I’d have to keep.” He then added with a laugh, “My kids are going to love that—it’s not going to be awkward at all.”

 

This year wasn’t only about the ‘Sexiest Man Alive,’ as People magazine also announced the winners of its 2025 Readers’ Choice Awards.

This year was a success for Dancing With the Stars, with judge Derek Hough being named the Sexiest 40-Year-Old and current contestant Dylan Efron winning the award for Sexiest Tattoos.

Readers voted 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey, who recently became a dad to daughter Colette with wife Olivia Culpo, as the Sexiest New Dad in Sports this year. Meanwhile, Mason Thames, known for his role in Regretting You, was named the Sexiest New Heartthrob.
