Getting a perfect 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes is extremely unusual. Even popular superhero movies like The Dark Knight and Black Panther didn’t quite reach it, scoring 94% and 96% respectively. It only takes one person to dislike a movie enough to drop the score to 99% – this actually happened to Paddington 2 and caused some debate. Ultimately, even for films that do get a perfect score, it can sometimes just depend on how the numbers shake out.
As we approach the end of 2025, very few films have earned a perfect 100% rating. Currently, only a handful of movies released this year have achieved this, including Park Chan-wook’s No Other Choice, Deaf President Now!, Souleymane’s Story, The Secret Agent, and On Becoming a Guinea Fowl. Recently, a new film joined this exclusive group: 100 Nights of Hero, an adaptation of a graphic novel.
100 Nights of Hero Earns a Rare Perfect Score on Rotten Tomatoes

Directed by Julia Jackman and based on Isabel Greenberg’s The One Hundred Nights of Hero, the film 100 Nights of Hero is a historical fantasy romance with a stellar cast. The film stars Emma Corrin (known from The Crown and Deadpool & Wolverine), Nicholas Galitzine (Red, White & Royal Blue), Maika Monroe (It Follows), Amir El-Masry (The Night Manager), Richard E. Grant (Loki), Felicity Jones (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story), and Charli XCX. Inspired by the classic tale of “One Thousand and One Nights,” the story centers on Cherry (Monroe) and her clever maid, Hero (Corrin), as they deal with a charming but dangerous visitor named Manfred (Galitzine).
The film 100 Nights of Hero has received overwhelmingly positive reviews after its debut at the Venice Film Festival. Currently, it boasts a perfect 100% rating on review aggregator sites based on 19 reviews, though it needs at least 40 reviews to be officially “Certified Fresh.” Critics are raving about the film; Next Best Picture called it “a fairy tale like no other, boldly queer and unapologetically feminist, a cinematic feast of humor, emotion, and rebellion,” while Little White Lies highlighted its fast-paced and engaging narrative, stating it “unfolds at breakneck speed, with never a dull moment.”
As a film buff, I saw the news about Charli XCX joining the cast, and Screen International pointed out it’ll definitely get people talking – which is smart. But they also rightly said that while it’s a good boost, it feels a little like a quick win in what’s already shaping up to be a really fun, over-the-top, and wonderfully queer story. It’s a minor point, honestly, when the film itself seems so promising.
Even though the film has received a lot of positive feedback, some reviewers have pointed out flaws in its story. Clotilde Chinnici from Loud and Clear Reviews mentioned “narrative and storytelling faults,” but still recommended it as a good watch for fans of historical fantasy dramas.
Good news! The highly acclaimed fantasy film, 100 Nights of Hero, will be released in US theaters by IFC this December.
