October 2025 was an incredibly busy month for releases, continuing the fast pace that began in September.
The launch of Ghost of Yotei, a PlayStation 5 exclusive, immediately made things interesting. The highly awaited sequel from Sucker Punch received excellent reviews and a lot of praise, and we wouldn’t be surprised if it wins the Game of the Month poll by a large margin.
Let’s not jump to conclusions, but Ninja Gaiden 4 has been a hit with action game fans (and if it wins October’s award, it will be the third Ninja Gaiden game to achieve that in 2025). Meanwhile, Battlefield 6 was a fantastic return to the series’ roots.
Players are also really enjoying ARC Raiders! October has been a great month for those who like to team up with friends or even strangers to compete and win.
This month had some really cool surprises! I got totally hooked on Ball X Pit – it’s a brilliantly made roguelike. Then there was PowerWash Simulator 2, which sounds silly, but I couldn’t stop cleaning things! And honestly, Once Upon Katamari was just delightfully weird and fun. Each game brought something totally unique to the table.
RPG fans had plenty to enjoy, including the expansive and choice-driven adventure of The Outer Worlds 2, and the charmingly retro Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake. For those looking for monster-collecting games, Digimon Story Time Stranger delivered a solid experience.
