Fans of both Warhammer and Vampire Survivors have a lot to be excited about! Auroch Digital, the studio behind Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun, is creating a crossover game called Warhammer Survivors, developed in collaboration with poncle, the creators of Vampire Survivors. You can watch the announcement trailer below.
Warhammer Survivors is a game similar to Vampire Survivors, blending roguelike elements with intense, bullet-hell action. Players automatically attack while trying to survive waves of increasingly difficult enemies.
Each attempt unlocks new characters and permanent upgrades, helping you progress towards victory. You’ll also discover various power-ups and weapons – including a nod to the popular paint, Nuln Oil, which will delight hobbyists.
The game challenges players to fight off endless hordes of Tyranids and Skaven, utilizing a roster of characters, each with their own unique abilities. Currently, six playable characters have been revealed.
- Warhammer 40,000 characters:
- Malum Caedo, the Space Marine protagonist of Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun
- Cadian Shock Trooper Kozlowski
- Brother Luca, a Space Marine Intercessor
- Warhammer: Age of Sigmar characters
- Neave Blacktalon
- Gotrek Gurnisson
- Sharynn Azurwrath, a Stormcast Eternals Vanquisher
Warhammer Survivors is coming to Windows PC via Steam in 2026, and you can add it to your wishlist now. While PC is the only confirmed platform so far, the developers, Auroch Digital, previously released Vampire Survivors on Xbox and other consoles, and continue to update it with new content, including a recent collaboration with Balatro.
Besides Warhammer Survivors, Auroch Digital is also working on Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2, which is also planned for a 2026 release. This sequel will feature the return of Malum Caedo, alongside a new playable character: a Sister of Battle.
The team-up we didn’t know we needed
I’m really excited to try this game! It combines two things I already enjoy, though I didn’t get *as* obsessed with Vampire Survivors as some people.
What’s especially great is that the developers, Auroch Digital, aren’t just taking inspiration from Vampire Survivors – they’re actually working *with* the creators, poncle. That’s a nice touch, and I appreciate it, especially with how quickly this genre is growing thanks to poncle’s success.
If you’re looking for something similar to play in the meantime, I’d recommend Ball x Pit. It has a lot of the same ideas, but adds town building and farming to the mix. Plus, it’s available on Xbox consoles and with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Premium, and on PC.
