Don’t let Katy Perry‘s sweet reference to her kid be the one that got away.
Katy Perry’s new music video for “Bandaids,” released on November 6th, sweetly honors her 5-year-old daughter, Daisy Dove Bloom, whom she shares with her ex-partner, Orlando Bloom.
The video shows Katy experiencing a string of unlikely mishaps and injuries as she sings about her recent split from Orlando, whom she was engaged to for nine years before calling it off in June.
In the opening lines, she insists she did everything she could to make things work, leaving no effort unexplored. She clarifies the problem wasn’t about any specific mistake, but rather a lack of presence or engagement – you were physically there, but emotionally absent.
Even though their relationship didn’t work out, Katy says she doesn’t regret their time together, especially the moment on the bridge. As she reflects, she notices a single daisy growing amidst the train tracks, which symbolizes the beautiful outcome of their romance: her daughter, who brings her immeasurable joy.
As Katy looks at the flower in the video, she sings, ‘If I could relive it, I wouldn’t change a thing.’ She adds that the connection they shared was ultimately worthwhile.
This isn’t the first time Katy Perry has openly talked about how much motherhood has impacted her life. She’s shared before how raising her daughter has even changed the way she approaches her work and creativity.
She shared with TopMob News in April 2024 that this person gave her the unconditional love she’d always wanted. She explained that this love is the source of her creativity, allowing her to experience wholeness, happiness, and genuine fulfillment.

Katy shared that Orlando, who is also a father to 14-year-old Flynn with his ex-wife Miranda Kerr, is equally thrilled to be a dad to a daughter.
In a 2024 interview on SiriusXM’s The Morning Mash Up, the 41-year-old described her daughter as a wonderful blessing and said good things were destined to come their way because of her.
