Prince Harry Apologizes for Wearing L.A. Dodgers Hat at World Series

Prince Harry is royally sorry.

Prince Harry apologized after some people criticized his choice of baseball cap at a recent World Series game. He wore a Los Angeles Dodgers hat instead of supporting the Toronto Blue Jays, the team playing in the game, while attending with his wife, Meghan Markle.

I was really surprised to see Harry apologize to Canada in a recent interview with CTV News – published on November 6th, he said he wanted to say sorry for wearing the outfit. It felt like a sincere gesture, and I appreciated him taking the time to address it.

The 41-year-old explained that he didn’t have complete control over what he wore to the October 28th game, as he was with Meghan, who is from Los Angeles, and Dodgers owner Mark Walter.

Harry said with a wry smile, “I felt pressured, really. It wasn’t like I had a lot of options. The Dodgers’ owner personally invited me to sit in their box, or maybe the dugout, and I just figured it was the courteous thing to do.”

The author of Spare also privately hoped the U.S. would win, even though some people thought he should have rooted for Canada. Both Canada and the U.K., his home country, are members of the Commonwealth.

He admitted that when you’re balding and under bright lights, you’ll wear whatever hat you can get your hands on.

Harry playfully assured everyone the mistake wouldn’t be repeated, even if it meant facing challenges returning to his home in California with Meghan and their children, 6-year-old Prince Archie and 4-year-old Princess Lilibet.

After wearing a Blue Jays hat during the interview, Harry explained he’d continue to wear it to avoid repeating past errors. He also expressed sadness about leaving Canada and apologized to Canadian fans for the Blue Jays’ loss, saying he was really disappointed.

The Blue Jays lost the World Series to the Dodgers in a close game seven on November 1st. The Dodgers won after 11 innings of play.

Okay, so maybe Harry’s a little conflicted about who he supported, but honestly, I’m absolutely thrilled with how things turned out for Meghan! It’s just fantastic to see her team win, and I couldn’t be happier for her.

Meghan Markle excitedly jumped up and down in her home theater, as seen in a video she shared on Instagram Stories on November 1st. She then kissed her husband on the forehead.
