The latest update for Enshrouded, called Wake of the Water, introduces a brand new collection of building materials for players to discover.
We’ve added 6 new Building Blocks and 4 new Roof Blocks to discover! This should give you plenty of options for customizing your creations, but you’ll have to find them all first.
In this guide, we’ll tell you where to find every single one of the new blocks in this update.
Where to Find All New Blocks | Enshrouded: Wake of the Water
Bamboo Wood Block

Let’s start with something easy! You’ll get this automatically whenever you cut down bamboo (like the ones pictured) and gather Bamboo Logs.

The area around Dragondream Lake is good for finding bamboo.
Castle Block, Castle Roof Block, and Shell Limestone Block
You’ll automatically unlock all three of these blocks once you collect some Shell Limestone. You can get this stone by mining it – it’s available in many areas around Veilwater Basin, and Dragondream Lake is a particularly good place to find it.
Drak Temple Block

You’ll need to find a Drak’Dal Temple for this. Look for the one located furthest to the southeast of the Veilwater Basin Ancient Spire.
When you get to the temple, go inside and head directly into the water. Swim straight ahead until you find a golden chest at the bottom. Open the chest to get the block you need.
Drak Temple Roof Block

Okay, so for this roof piece, you’ve gotta head to the other Drak’Dal Temple – the one southeast of the Veilwater Basin Ancient Spire. It’s the temple that’s actually closest to the spire on that side, and you might recognize it if you’ve been doing the “Finding Gold Coins” quest. I remember seeing it when I was working on that one!
To get inside this temple, you’ll have to swim through the water at the base of the entrance. The doorway is initially sealed shut.

When you get inside the main part of the temple, you’ll find a chest sitting amongst a pile of gold coins. Don’t open it! It’s a trick, and opening the chest will cause the room to flood.
Don’t open the chest just yet. Continue forward to find a locked door marked with three symbols. To open it, you’ll need to locate and press the hidden buttons that match those symbols.
To find the first button, stand facing the door and turn to your left. Then, follow the underwater path shown in the video to get to it.
For the second task, swim in the same location, but this time, swim straight ahead instead of descending to the bottom. You’ll discover the button on a wall along the way.
To find the third button, stand facing the door and turn to your right. Then, follow the underwater path shown in the video to reach it.

Okay, so after you finish up whatever you were doing, head back to that door – it should be open now. Then, you’ll need to climb up that metal grate on the wall to get to the top of the temple. Be warned though, there’s a miniboss waiting for you up there, so get ready to fight!
Once you’ve beaten the miniboss, head to the temple entrance. Then, use your pickaxe on the pile of coins to the right – this will uncover the chest holding the Drak Temple Roof Block.
Half-Timbered Shell Limestone Block

Okay, so I figured out how to unlock this! It happens automatically as soon as I gather enough Tropical Wood. I got that wood by chopping down most of the trees in the Veilwater Basin – it took a while, but it’s totally doable!
Palm Leaf Roof Block

You’ll automatically unlock this feature once you collect Palm Leaves. To get Palm Leaves, find and chop down palm trees – you can find plenty of them throughout the Veilwater Basin. Keep in mind that you’ll only have a chance of getting Palm Leaves each time you chop one down.
Red Carpet Block

Head far northwest of the Veilwater Basin Ancient Spire, to Stillwater Bay. You’ll find a locked door there, but to open it, you’ll need to find four hidden buttons scattered around the bay.
Okay, so the first button is on the tower right across from where you come in. You’re gonna need to use your grapple to get over there, then basically climb around the outside of the tower to actually reach it.
The second button is located on a tower far to the southwest. To get there, you’ll need to glide and use air currents to stay aloft. Once you reach the tower, use a lockpick to open the cell where the button is hidden.
The third button is located in Stillwater Bay, within the Enshrouded area of town, inside a small tower. To reach it, you’ll either need to break the walls with a pickaxe or unlock the cell with a lockpick.
Okay, so for the last button, you just keep going northeast from where you found the last one. You’ll come to a house, but it’s locked! You’ll need lockpicks or a pickaxe to get inside and grab the button. And hey, while you’re there, don’t forget to open the chest – you can find the Captain’s Coat inside, which is pretty cool!
After you’ve activated all the buttons, go back to the door that was previously locked. It should now open, leading you into a spacious room where you’ll find the Red Carpet Block chest.
Shell Limestone Roof Block

To complete this task, head to Dew Drop Farm. Look for a building that has a hole in the roof.
Go down the hole to discover a chest. You’ll need lockpicks to open it, and inside you’ll find the block you’re looking for.
That’s everything you need to know about the new building blocks added in Enshrouded’s Wake of the Water update! You’ll find a total of 6 new building blocks and 4 new roof pieces – a significant expansion to your building options.
