So, I just heard Mark Gatiss mention that the Doctor Who story he wrote back when David Tennant was the Doctor – the Tenth Doctor, obviously – might actually see the light of day! Apparently, it was never filmed, but he’s hinting it could still be released somehow. As a huge fan, I’m really hoping that happens – I’d love to see what he came up with!
Mark Gatiss has shared that the episode, called “The Suicide Exhibition,” was almost filmed in the late 2000s, but ultimately wasn’t produced.
I just heard about this movie called The Suicide Exhibition. It’s filmed at the British Museum and sounds like a real adventure – kind of like an Indiana Jones vibe. From what I’ve gathered, it’s actually pretty good!
Yes, I still have a copy. Big Finish seemed interested at one point, but things have been quiet recently. I’m hoping to hear from them soon!
Despite everything, Gatiss has significantly shaped the world of Doctor Who. He’s written episodes ranging from ‘The Unquiet Dead’ to ‘Sleep No More,’ and he also wrote ‘An Adventure in Space and Time,’ the acclaimed documentary drama celebrating the show’s 50th anniversary, featuring David Bradley as the original Doctor, William Hartnell.

When asked about potential eras for a similar show, he pointed out that exploring beginnings is always captivating. He also highlighted the appeal of stories centered around crises.
This documentary about ‘The Trial of a Time Lord’ is really interesting, largely because it explores so many possibilities and disagreements.

He added: “It’s a strange thing to say, but the darkest hour for the show would definitely make a very interesting drama, wouldn’t it? I mean, the personal conflicts, the professional conflicts, the resignations… that’s the one, isn’t it?
Even in difficult times, there’s always hope for a brighter future.
“There’s something very moving about [Tales of the TARDIS] rounding all that off.”
