The current season of the My Hero Academia anime is almost over, with only a few episodes left before it concludes. While the My Hero Academia universe will continue with a new anime series, My Hero Academia: Vigilantes, next year, this marks the end for Deku and his classmates in Class 1-A. Since the manga finished last year, creator Kohei Horikoshi has been creating new artwork, and recently shared a touching piece featuring Eraserhead and Eri as a farewell to the series.
I’ve been watching Eraserhead and Eri, and it’s clear they’re both incredibly strong when it comes to Quirks. Eri’s ability, called “Rewind,” might actually be one of the most powerful in the whole series. It can restore lost Quirks and heal almost any injury. Even though she’s still learning to control it, she’s already a huge help to the heroes. Thankfully, Aizawa is working closely with her, hoping she’ll become the next generation of heroes. It’s surprising, given how serious Eraserhead usually is, but he’s turned out to be a fantastic mentor for her, and you can really see their connection in the artwork Horikoshi has created.

Aizawa’s Story Isn’t Done
Although the My Hero Academia anime series is finishing up next month, you haven’t seen the last of Eraserhead! The spin-off, My Hero Academia: Vigilantes, delves into the history of UA Academy. The first season has followed the stories of Crawler, Knuckleduster, and Pop Step, but future episodes are expected to explore the past. This means we’ll likely see Aizawa—Eraserhead—as a student at the superhero training school. While it hasn’t been officially announced, the second season of Vigilantes may begin to reveal his origins.
The anime My Hero Academia hinted at a strong early friendship between the heroes Eraserhead, Present Mic, Midnight, and Oboro, but didn’t fully explore it. Fans were surprised to learn that Oboro died during an early mission, and was later resurrected as the villain Kurogiri by All For One. The spin-off series Vigilantes promises to delve deeper into the close relationship between Oboro and Aizawa, showing how their friendship developed.
The biggest villains – All For One, Dabi, Toga, and Spinner – have been defeated in the final battle, but the fight isn’t over for Deku and his friends. Shigaraki remains, and he’s still the most dangerous enemy they’ve faced. Now, Izuku Midoriya is making one final, desperate move to defeat him, and it’s uncertain whether heroes like Eraserhead will survive this last showdown.
