ITV has announced when the new spin-off of ‘The 1% Club’ will begin – and it’s coming soon!
The popular game show, The 1% Club, is getting a special extended edition. Usually on Saturday nights, it will be a five-day event, running from Monday, December 8th, to Friday, December 12th, at 9pm on ITV1.
I’m really excited about this new spin-off! It’s hosted by the hilarious Lee Mack and plays just like the regular show we all love. But here’s the cool part: if nobody wins the prize money each day, it builds up and rolls over to the next show. That means by the final night, there could be a massive £500,000 up for grabs – talk about exciting television!
Here’s a new development: if a contestant reaches the incredibly difficult final question, they’ll be invited back to compete on the next show. This gives them another chance to win the prize money and potentially increase their total winnings significantly – they could even win double, triple, or quadruple the amount!
Sue Murphy, who leads factual entertainment at ITV, explained that “The 1% Club” is a great choice for a special event because it’s become incredibly popular with viewers on Saturday nights and is consistently performing well.
He admitted he wasn’t sure why things were the way they were, but shared that he’d stopped helping his children with math around age 10 because they were already doing so well. He felt this approach would work well for the current situation as well.
The presenter suggested an episode featuring kids competing against adults, but acknowledged it might be difficult to pull off.
He joked that a competition between a grown man and a young girl wouldn’t be good to watch if the girl lost – it would just be upsetting.
He explained that they discussed what the audience might enjoy, but he personally wouldn’t want to see it, though he’d find it funny. He quickly added that it wouldn’t be what most people want, and realized he was contradicting himself.
The 1% Club hosted by Mack has been a huge hit with fans since it first aired in 2022.
The show pits 100 contestants against each other with increasingly challenging logic puzzles. The final question is designed to be incredibly difficult, solvable by only about 1% of the population.
The 1% Club Rollover will air on ITV1 from Monday 8th to Friday 12th December at 9pm on ITV1.
