THE FINALS is Ending Support for PS4 With the Launch of Season 10 on March 18, 2026

Embark Studios has announced it will no longer support the PS4 version of its popular shooter, THE FINALS. With the launch of Season 10 on March 18, 2026, the studio will end updates for the PS4 and concentrate on improving the game for newer consoles.

The studio announced on social media that players switching from the PS4 version of THE FINALS will have all their game progress and purchases automatically saved to their Embark ID. This account system lets you continue playing with everything you’ve earned, even if you switch to a different platform.

The decision was probably made because Embark Studios has been increasingly busy since launching ARC Raiders last month. They’re likely focused on supporting that game and continuing to create new content for THE FINALS, leaving them with limited resources.

Even though support for older versions of the game is ending, the developers still plan to create new content. A studio representative mentioned in April that they expect to continue working on THE FINALS for another 3 to 5 years.

Every year presents its own set of difficulties, according to the spokesperson. The initial year was particularly challenging, as the team shifted from developing a game privately to one where they received constant feedback – both positive and negative – from players.

Honestly, seeing the community grow and enjoy the game is the best feeling. I’m really hoping we’ll still be playing and improving THE FINALS for years to come – I’m picturing at least another 3 to 5 seasons, with tons of players and a game that just keeps getting better and better with each update. It’s incredibly rewarding to be a part of it!

Embark Studios is also seeing success with ARC Raiders. The game sold over 4 million copies in under two weeks after its release in late October. It quickly attracted a large player base, peaking at over 700,000 concurrent players earlier this month, and continues to generate significant interest.

Last weekend, the game ARC Raiders reached a new high, with nearly 482,000 players online at the same time. This is more players than Battlefield 6 had playing across all of its game modes – including the free-to-play battle royale – which peaked at around 299,000 players on PC.
