The BBC has shared a sneak peek photo from the set of its upcoming comedy special, Shedites, now that filming has started.
Paddy Houlihan, the creator and writer behind the popular show Mrs Brown’s Boys, has written and created a new series called Shedites. He’s also brought along many of the original cast members to star in it. The series will be available on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
The project will feature Brendan O’Carroll, Danny O’Carroll, Simon Delaney, and Emmett J. Scanlan (playing Houlihan), alongside Phil Davis from the show ‘Trying’, Shane Casey of ‘The Young Offenders’, and Deirdre O’Kane, known for ‘Small Town, Big Story’.
The special will air as part of the BBC’s Christmas programming, so production is moving quickly to meet the deadline.

Shedites is a story about a place where men find fulfillment by working with their hands – building and fixing things. It’s also about the unexpected friendships they forge, the renewed sense of purpose they discover, and the simple pleasure of a good cup of tea.
In this half-hour comedy, Jimmy, Harry, Gavin, Cheesy, Paul, and Paddy the Liar team up to build a bike from old parts. Their goal? To win the local ‘Santa Spin’ race.
If the team wins, it will be a remarkable achievement. But if they lose, Councillor Orla will definitely let them know about it.
I’m incredibly proud to see the actors I’ve long admired breathe life into the characters I created,” said Houlihan. “The cast and crew have worked tirelessly, bringing humor, honesty, and genuine emotion to the story, and it’s been amazing to watch my creations, the Shedites, come to life on screen.
Brendan O’Carroll also shared his enthusiasm for filming ‘Shedites,’ saying he’d always believed in Paddy’s original concept and was thrilled to see it become a reality, as Paddy’s talent deserves.
The latest season of Mrs Brown’s Boys premiered earlier this year on BBC One and iPlayer, and fans can look forward to the show’s traditional Christmas specials coming soon.
