PlayStation Plus is a great way to access a wide variety of games. Sony regularly updates the selection each month, adding new titles to keep things interesting. However, because games are removed from the service fairly often, it’s a good idea to check what’s leaving so you don’t lose access to a game you’re playing. Nine games will be removed on December 16th, 2025, to make room for new additions. Here’s a complete list of those nine games, arranged alphabetically.
Here are the nine games leaving PS Plus in December 2025.
9) Arcade Paradise VR
In Arcade Paradise, you step into the shoes of a teenager in the early ’90s tasked with saving the family business. The game features 39 playable arcade games, with 12 designed specifically for VR and 27 from the original release. But it’s not just about playing games – you’ll also manage the family laundromat and work to turn it into a successful arcade.
8) Battlefield 2042

The latest Battlefield game is a welcome improvement after the disappointing launch of Battlefield 2042. While 2042 received a lot of criticism when it came out in 2021, and despite the developers’ efforts to fix it, it wasn’t considered a success. With no story mode, there’s little incentive to play 2042 now that it’s leaving PS Plus – you’re better off getting the newest Battlefield game instead.
7) Firefighting Simulator: The Squad
Firefighting Simulator is a straightforward game where you play as a firefighter and work with up to three friends to extinguish fires and rescue people in 40 different locations. If you’re interested in a game exactly like that, it’s worth checking out. However, the developers recently released an improved version called Firefighting Simulator: Ignite, so you might want to consider that one instead.
6) Forspoken

Forspoken didn’t perform well when it launched, receiving mixed reviews and disappointing sales. It was meant to be the first major game from Luminous Productions, a studio created by Square Enix based on the team that made Final Fantasy XV. Sadly, because of the low sales, the development team was re-integrated back into Square Enix. However, if you have a subscription to a gaming service that includes it, it might be worth playing – many reviewers find that Forspoken improves significantly as you progress through the story.
5) GTA 3: Definitive Edition

Grand Theft Auto 3 is a landmark game, but its recent “Definitive Edition” release was disappointing. Players encountered strange character models, numerous bugs, and performance problems. While some of these issues have been fixed, the remaster still feels rushed and more focused on profit than quality. However, it’s still the classic GTA 3 experience, so it’s not a total loss.
4) Sonic Frontiers

When Sonic Frontiers came out in 2022, it offered a fresh new experience for Sonic fans. The game featured a beautiful open world that was fun to explore, and many appreciated the freedom it offered, as well as references to past Sonic titles. While the combat system was a little basic and the game had some technical problems, it’s still a great game for anyone who enjoys the Sonic series.
3) Star Trek: Bridge Crew
Bridge Crew is a great virtual reality game for Star Trek fans, but it’s best enjoyed with friends. You’ll need a team of four to pilot the ship effectively, so gather your crew before you start playing – it’s not very fun to play alone!
2) Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge – Enhanced Edition

Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge is a virtual reality game set in the popular Star Wars universe. It’s an action-packed shooter that’s enjoyable, though a bit brief. Since it’s leaving PlayStation Plus in December, its short length could be a positive for players wanting to experience it before it’s no longer available.
1) Surviving Mars

Surviving Mars is a challenging city-building game where you establish and grow a colony on the planet Mars. It’s more intricate than other popular city builders like Cities: Skylines. With the release of a remastered edition on November 10th, 2025, the publisher, Paradox Interactive, has removed the original game to encourage players to try the updated version.
