The Capture season 3 first look finally released as Holliday Grainger returns in beloved role to face “brutal” danger

After a three-year wait since the last season, the first image from The Capture season 3 is here, featuring Holliday Grainger reprising her role as Rachel Carey.

The image shows Rachel standing in an interview room, with her reflection repeated in the mirror behind her.

I’m really excited for season 3! It’s being written by Ben Chanan again, which is fantastic news. They haven’t announced the exact date yet, but we know it’s coming in Spring 2026 on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. I’m already counting down the days!

As we previously shared, Killian Scott will be a key part of season 3, similar to how Callum Turner and Paapa Essiedu shared leading roles with Grainger in seasons 1 and 2.

The show will also feature returning actors Indira Varma as Khadija Khan, Ben Miles as Danny Hart, Lia Williams as Gemma Garland, Ginny Holder as DI Nadia Latif, Ron Perlman as CIA agent Frank Napier, Nigel Lindsay as DSI Tom Kendricks, Tessa Wong as DC Chloe Tan, and Daisy Waterstone as Abigail Carey.

Season 3 begins a year after the dramatic events of Season 2. Rachel shocked the country by broadcasting a fake video of a government minister, revealing a secret program run by the UK intelligence service called Correction, which manipulated videos in secret.

The new season kicks off with Carey unexpectedly in charge of Counter Terrorism Command while they investigate the misuse of a powerful tool called ‘Correction.’ She’s focused on winning back public confidence in surveillance by launching ‘Operation Veritas,’ a new camera system.

It all unfolded so quickly. There was this incredibly violent and planned attack, right at the center of everything in Britain, and unbelievably, I was the only one who saw it happen.

As Carey digs further into the case, she finds herself entangled in a growing international crisis that affects Britain’s government, intelligence agencies, and news outlets. The conspiracy goes all the way to the top, but the question remains: who’s really in control? Facing escalating danger and with her trust dwindling, how far will Carey go to uncover the truth?
