How to Get Flaming Meteor in Where Winds Meet

Flaming Meteor is a strong area-of-effect ability in Where Winds Meet, but it can be difficult to unlock if you’re not sure how. Fortunately, getting it is actually quite easy once you know the steps and where to find what you need.

As a big fan of WWM, I’ve put together a guide to help you unlock the Flaming Meteor Skill! I’ll walk you through exactly what you need to do, and I’ve even included a few tips to make the process a little smoother.

You need 60 Vitality in the game area ‘Where Winds Meet’ to be able to use the Flaming Meteor. If you don’t have enough Vitality, you won’t be able to equip it.

How to Get Flaming Meteor in Where Winds Meet

To learn the Flaming Meteor Mystic Skill in Where Winds Meet, you need to successfully deflect a specific attack from the boss Ye Wanshan ten times. You can challenge Ye Wanshan after finishing the Bodhi Sea mission in Sundara Land (Qinghe), but that mission becomes available only after completing Chapter One: Heaven Has No Pier.

Bodhi Sea Walkthrough

Once you finish Chapter One: Heaven Has No Pier, go to the location shown on the map. You’ll arrive in a dark, swampy area.

  1. Follow the sound of the drum beat (shown as a white indicator on-screen) and ring the three drums in the area one by one.
  2. Return to Zhang Yinmang, and you’ll be transported to Ye Wanshan’s Illusion world.
  3. Defeat Ye Wanshan once here to unlock him in the Bodhi Sea campaign encounter.

You won’t be able to learn the Flaming Meteor Skill from Ye Wanshan during your first encounter with him in the Bodhi Sea quest.

Okay, so once you’ve beaten Ye Wanshan and finished up at the Bodhi Sea, check your map. You’ll see a little red umbrella icon – it looks like a hero’s tomb – floating over the swamp. Click the teleport button down at the bottom right to go straight there. Once you arrive, just interact with the drum, and it’ll take you back into the Illusion world!

Learning Flaming Meteor From Ye Wanshan

If you battle Ye Wanshan again, you’ll see a small eye symbol next to his health bar. This indicates the progress bar for learning his special move, Flaming Meteor.

During the fight, Ye Wanshan sometimes jumps onto his horse and attacks with a downward spear strike, signaled by a red flash. If you successfully block this attack, you’ll see a brief animation of your character parrying, and the icon for learning the Flaming Meteor Mystic Skill will fill up a little bit – about one-tenth of the total.

Simply blocking or deflecting Ye Wanshan’s attacks won’t help you learn the mystic skill any faster.

You don’t have to perfectly deflect all of Ye Wanshan’s attacks in one go – your progress is saved even when you die. For instance, if you manage to deflect five of his Flaming Meteor attacks before defeating him, the next time you fight, you’ll start with 5 out of 10 deflections already completed, not back at zero. You can see how many deflections you’ve learned by clicking the Bodhi Sea umbrella icon on the map.

You don’t need to use Energy when collecting the chest that appears after defeating Ye Wanshan – it’s simply there to mark your progress in learning the Flaming Meteor skill.

Successfully deflect the attack ten times, and the progress bar will fill up, unlocking the Flaming Meteor Skill.
