The popular manga series Haikyu!! finished its run in 2020, but the anime adaptation is still catching up. A movie, Haikyu!! The Dumpster Battle, came out in February 2024, and another, Haikyu!! vs. The Little Giant, is planned for March 2025. A short preview for the second movie showed the exciting match between Karasuno and Kamomedai High Schools. While it was initially believed that Haikyu!! vs. The Little Giant would be the anime’s last film, the studio removed that label from its website, leading fans to believe there might be a Season 5 or even more movies to come. Fans are eagerly awaiting further announcements about release dates and details.
Right now, everything is just guesswork until the studio releases an official announcement. However, there’s some good news for fans! Crunchyroll recently announced that more dubbed episodes are now available after a long delay. Bryson Baugus, who voices Shoya Hinata in English, confirmed on X (formerly Twitter) that all the dubbed episodes have been added.
Haikyu’s Upcoming Film Won’t Be Released For a While

It’s very likely we won’t find out when the movie will be released this year. With the year almost over, fans are now looking forward to Jump Festa 2026 on December 21st and 22nd. While it seemed like a good chance for the studio to share news about the film, the Jump Festa website only confirms the voice actors will be there for a special panel discussion. The anime’s official social media is currently focused on promoting merchandise, and there haven’t been any hints about new announcements yet.
Having defeated Nekoma High, the Karasuno volleyball team advances to the Quarterfinals of the Spring High National Tournament. Their next opponent is Kamomedai, a powerful team known for its strong serves, solid blocking, and impressive mental toughness – skills that surpass anything Karasuno has encountered so far. The match will also feature a highly anticipated rivalry between Karasuno’s Shoyo and Kamomedai’s ace, Kōrai Hoshiumi, often referred to as the ‘Little Giant’.
Even though Shoyo is the smallest player on the team, his natural skill impresses Kōrai, who sees him as a rival because they both look up to the legendary Little Giant. The story then jumps forward several years after Hinata finishes high school, focusing on his continued volleyball career in what many Weekly Shonen Jump readers consider one of the best series endings ever.
