In the realm of comic book universes, it seems almost every powerful character resides within the DC Universe. Superman, the symbol of the franchise, is remarkably invulnerable to just one rock and possesses extraordinary abilities such as superhuman strength and heat vision. Characters like the Spectre and Doctor Manhattan, however, are virtually omnipotent, providing them an advantage in any confrontation. Yet, it’s Batman who garners unparalleled admiration. He may just be a man dressed in a suit with an exceptionally intelligent mind. Granted, he is skilled in hand-to-hand combat, but this skill becomes less significant when going up against adversaries like Darkseid.
It’s widely accepted that Batman can overcome almost any opponent with proper preparation, given his impressive track record against various villains despite being less physically powerful. However, he hasn’t engaged in combat within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and there are several characters from this universe who might outsmart him in a test of intellect.
1) Shuri
In the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), Wakanda stands out as the most technologically sophisticated nation, and it’s Shuri who drives this innovation. With her exceptional skills in manipulating vibranium, she can craft everything from armor to railway networks. Unlike Shuri, Batman possesses similar talents, but he lacks access to vibranium. If ever they faced off, Batman would struggle to obtain any vibranium. The gadgets that Shuri designs for Batman will undoubtedly leave him regretting his decision to tangle with the technology of Wakanda.
2) Rocket
Raised in the vastness of space, Rocket has experienced everything there is to experience. His engineering skills are unmatched, leaving even formidable foes like Ronan the Accuser and Ego the Living Planet no choice but to yield to his cunning strategies. However, what truly sets Rocket apart is his unique appearance. In a confrontation with Batman, the latter might not hesitate to cross paths with an anthropomorphic raccoon. By the time Batman realizes the situation, it would likely be too late.
3) The Leader
Although Samuel Sterns, also known as the Leader, was the antagonist in just one Marvel Cinematic Universe film, he’s been pulling strings for quite a while. Manipulating Thunderbolt Ross, he stirred discord among the Avengers by urging Ross to support the Sokovia Accords, which ultimately caused tension. The Leader might not stand a chance against Batman in a direct confrontation, but as a villain, he could take measures to keep his adversary at bay.
4) Loki
Batman has faced more than his share of divine adversaries, but even the original Loki from the Marvel Cinematic Universe might struggle against the Caped Crusader. Yet, the modern Loki – the one controlling the multiverse – shows wisdom and possesses an extensive arsenal of tactics. If this Asgardian can concentrate and utilize his illusions effectively, he could potentially deceive Batman long enough to create an opening for attack.
5) Iron Man
In simpler terms, Tony Stark shares many similarities with DC’s Batman, both being wealthy, brilliant, and secretly fighting crime as heroes. However, unlike Batman, Iron Man has the ability to manipulate time. While there’s no evidence that he would misuse this power, he does possess it. Moreover, Tony Stark demonstrates his ingenuity even without his Iron Man suits, for instance, when he confronted the Winter Soldier hand-to-hand combat.
6) Daredevil
Daredevil might not be as intellectually gifted as Batman, but he possesses some clever tactics. If Matt Murdock manages to catch up with the Dark Knight, he can leverage his extraordinary senses to gain the upper hand initially. Despite the fact that Batman likely has a strategy in place to confuse Daredevil, he won’t find an effortless opponent when he begins to throw punches at the vigilante.
7) Druig
It’s challenging to fathom a scenario where Druig would have a dispute with Batman, given that the Eternal tends to be solitary. Yet, should they engage in combat, Batman might face difficulties. To begin with, Druig possesses mind-controlling abilities, which Batman from both comics and films has shown vulnerability towards. Additionally, there’s the issue of Druig’s resilience, as he’s significantly more robust than the villains in Gotham City.
