With WWE’s Survivor Series WarGames happening tomorrow, tonight’s SmackDown understandably highlighted the upcoming matches. However, the show also spent a significant amount of time on the Last Time Is Now Tournament and building storylines for after WarGames. Some segments were really successful, while others didn’t quite land, and we’re going to break down the six best and worst moments from the night.
6. HIT: LA Knight’s Had Enough
LAKnight is game for a fight with Nick Aldis, no matter the location or event! He’s ready to face him anytime, anywhere.
— WWE (@WWE) November 29, 2025
LA Knight has faced a series of setbacks recently, mostly due to unfortunate injuries. It’s natural he’d be frustrated, and that frustration seemed to boil over tonight when he found out he was facing another unknown opponent in The Last Time Is Now tournament.
Knight was clearly frustrated when he found out about his new opponent. He’d been under the impression he’d have a week off due to Sheamus’s injury, and no one had corrected him. He expressed annoyance with constantly facing obstacles when he starts to gain momentum. While he respects Cena, Knight is increasingly unhappy with the tournament itself. Giving Knight a win over Cena would be a good move to build his profile as the tournament progresses, and his edge is a welcome addition.
5. HIT: A Reignited Miz
It was later announced that LA Knight would face The Miz, a surprisingly good match-up. However, many wondered if it would be a real competition or just a chance for Knight to show off. Ultimately, the match served as a showcase for both wrestlers, but especially for The Miz, who came out with a renewed energy and aggression right from the start.
The Miz is often overlooked, but he’s incredibly adaptable as a performer and can have a good match with anyone. He proved that again on SmackDown tonight, even though he lost. I was hoping he’d go further in the tournament, but if he was going to lose, it was a great match that helps build momentum for his opponent, LA Knight, going forward.
4. HIT: Jey Uso’s Hard-Fought Win
The latest match in the tournament to determine John Cena’s final opponent pitted Jey Uso against Rusev, and it was another exciting contest, much like the Miz and Knight match. Jey and Rusev worked well together in the ring, with Jey demonstrating his usual toughness and Rusev relying on his impressive strength.
I thought Rusev would win, but if Jey was going to be the victor, a decisive win was the right call – it really showed how he can beat a stronger opponent. Now that Jey’s moving on to face Knight, I’m still hoping Knight will win in their match, as I said before.
3. MISS: Jade Cargill Needs A Real Feud
The match wasn’t a failure because of the wrestlers’ abilities, but rather the overall creative choices. Jade Cargill won the WWE Women’s Championship by defeating Tiffany Stratton in a dominant performance. While a strong beginning, the focus now needs to be on developing compelling storylines and opponents for Cargill’s championship run, and the current absence of that is noticeable.
Cargill still seems like a dominant force, but her recent actions feel disconnected and without a clear purpose. While interrupting Chelsea Green’s celebration was a good moment, it doesn’t feel like it’s leading to anything bigger. Her encounters with B-Fab and Michin also seem random and haven’t established her as a serious contender for a championship. Hopefully, she’ll be involved in a meaningful rivalry soon, because she has the potential to really stand out with the right opponent.
2. HIT: Asuka vs Flair Stole the Show (And Should Have Main Evented)
The highlight of the night was a tag team match with members of The MFT and some popular good guys from SmackDown. However, despite the skilled performers, the match wasn’t as good as the one before it – the match between Asuka and Charlotte Flair – which really should have been the main event.
While there was a small misstep or two, the match between Asuka and Flair was excellent and deserves all the credit. Flair is clearly enjoying herself and is a pleasure to watch, and Asuka was back to being the dominant force she’s known for. Both wrestlers are incredibly talented, and this match really highlighted why. Let’s see them face off again!
1. HIT: Wyatt Sicks Are Finally Back On TV
I mentioned the tag team match should have been the main event, but the way the show ended explained why it wasn’t. After Solo Sikoa defeated Sami Zayn, the show seemed to end, but then the lights went out. This signaled the return of the Wyatt Family, which was a great surprise for fans.
The Wyatt Family hadn’t been seen on TV much since winning the Tag Team Championships, and neither had Uncle Howdy. They all returned tonight, seemingly ready to shake up the tag team division, and they’re now targeting Sikoa and The Family. It’s great to have The Wyatt Family back, but it’s important that there’s a solid plan for their future and how they’ll affect SmackDown. Hopefully, this storyline will also give The Family the spark they’ve been missing since becoming a full group on the show – they haven’t quite clicked with audiences yet.
