Taskmaster MCU Actor Opens Up About Death, Thunderbolts* Script Changes

Actress Olga Kurylenko, known for her role in Thunderbolts, has shared insights on the latest Marvel Cinematic Universe film, along with details about alterations made to her character’s script.

What did Taskmaster’s actor say about the Thunderbolts* script changes?

During a conversation with Diverto (through translator Miranes2310), Kurylenko shared insights into how the movie’s script evolved during filming. Kurylenko recalled that she and her son spent five long months in Atlanta due to the writers’ strike, which impacted the production process.

Essentially, Kurylenko mentioned that bad luck struck as we began filming the movie just as a strike occurred. This meant that we had packed up all our equipment and relocated, moving our family to Atlanta for five months, rented a house and so on. However, only two weeks later, they informed us it was time to return home because of the ongoing strike and no clear end date in sight.

In the original screenplay, Kurylenko’s character, Taskmaster, survived throughout the film. But following the revisions, she learned that the overall idea and plot for the movie were significantly altered, resulting in her character being removed from it much sooner.

In the original script, my character was portrayed as such and remained throughout. However, the final version of the script bore little resemblance to the initial one. After the revision, the storyline, locations, and even the essence of the plot had been altered significantly. It’s unfortunate because the character was interesting.

Everyone, including the costume designers, have expressed their fondness for me as the character with the most stylish outfits. They consider my costume to be the standout.
