Sony plans to unveil a pair of exclusive Ghost of Yotei console packages to celebrate the launch of Sucker Punch’s extraordinary new open-world game.
The remarkable hardware designs will feature images of Mount Yotei and the broader region that is now widely recognized as Hokkaido under its modern name.
The initial collection boasts a golden hue, drawing inspiration from the ancient Japanese method called “kintsugi”. This technique involves mending broken pottery with lacquer and gold, symbolizing beauty in imperfection. It can soon be found on shelves at stores globally.

Here’s a closer look:
Simultaneously, the second system arrives in a sleek black design, drawing inspiration from Sumi-e, a classic Japanese art form that uses black ink. You’ll only find it on PlayStation Direct.
Again, here’s a better look:
In this package, you’ll receive two sets: one includes a customized slim version of the PS5 with a disc drive, accompanied by a DualSense controller that coordinates with it, and also a digital version of Ghost of Yotei. Additionally, you’ll gain access to all pre-order bonuses such as an exclusive in-game mask and a collection of seven PSN avatars.
If you’re lucky enough to own a PS5, you can acquire gold-themed faceplates for both the PS5 Slim and PS5 Pro models directly from PlayStation. Additionally, the individual DualSense controllers with their unique designs will also be up for grabs.
Here’s a look at the full collection:
And here’s what creative director Jason Connell has to say about the designs:
The inspiration behind our design stems directly from a key element within the game: an emphasis on exploration. We’ve incorporated various features that reflect this, such as Atsu’s hand-drawn icons on her map, a kintsugi aesthetic derived from her Ghost mask, and brushstrokes resembling her Sumi-e paintings. The central figure of Mount Yōtei is featured in the console design to tie everything together, while Atsu is prominently displayed on the DualSense controller. Careful consideration was given to integrating each of these elements into both the console and controller designs.
