The phantom figure of Yotei is fortunate enough to receive not just a single, but two exclusive PS5 console sets as part of a limited edition release. For years, console manufacturers have been creating special, limited editions of controllers and consoles to entice new buyers and spark the interest of collectors alike. Previous versions of the PlayStation had numerous limited edition models featuring themes based on characters and symbols from popular games like Marvel’s Spider-Man and Uncharted 4. The PS5 has followed suit, with exclusive editions such as one themed around Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and another commemorating the 30th anniversary of the original PlayStation console from 1994.
Currently, the unique Ghost of Yotei limited edition PS5 console is being unveiled. The upcoming sequel to Ghost of Tsushima, one of the most eagerly awaited games, has gamers on the edge of their seats. This game was initially revealed towards the end of last year and since then, it’s been largely shrouded in secrecy. However, a recent PlayStation State of Play event provided an extensive look into the game’s new elements, storyline, and exclusive gameplay for the samurai game. It appears to be fantastic, and it’s undoubtedly going to make a significant impact on PlayStation’s exclusive games portfolio, marking a notable title for the PS5 era.
As a thrilled fan, I can’t hide my excitement after the State of Play event confirmed that there will be exclusive PS5 bundles for the highly-anticipated game, Ghost of Yotei. Two distinct limited editions are being released, each sporting a unique design. One is inspired by the game’s iconic white and gold motif, while the other flips the color scheme to white and black. Both packages include not only a standard copy of Ghost of Yotei but also limited edition controllers. For those who already own a PS5, the opportunity to purchase the plates and controllers separately is available too!
According to Jason Connell, Creative Director of Sucker Punch, the idea behind our design originated directly from a significant element in the game – an intense emphasis on exploration. We’ve incorporated various aspects such as Atsu’s hand-drawn map icons, a kintsugi-inspired effect from her Ghost mask, and brushstrokes similar to her Sumi-e artworks. The towering Mount Yōtei is prominently featured at the heart of our console design to bring everything together, while Atsu is highlighted on the DualSense controller. Each element was carefully integrated into both the console and controller designs.
The console’s price hasn’t been disclosed as of now, but considering the cost of similar special edition consoles, it’s expected to be around $600. The release date is set for October 2nd, coinciding with the game launch. Pre-orders will become available at a later time on PlayStation Direct and certain regions.
