BBC confirms Christmas 2025 TV schedule – from The Traitors season 4 to The Night Manager season 2

Last month, the BBC announced its plans for the 2025 holiday season. Now, the complete schedule is available, detailing when each show, special, and movie will be broadcast.

This year’s TV schedule includes returning favorites like Call the Midwife, Beyond Paradise, and Death in Paradise, all with special Christmas episodes.

This Christmas and Boxing Day, enjoy special episodes of Call the Midwife at 8:15pm on December 25th and 8:30pm on December 26th. Also, don’t miss Beyond Paradise on December 21st at 9pm and Death in Paradise on December 28th at 8:30pm.

Alongside these highlights, there are plenty of other popular shows to enjoy. A new animated film based on Julia Donaldson’s ‘The Scarecrows’ Wedding’ will be shown at 3:10pm on Christmas Day, followed by the yearly ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ Christmas special at 5:30pm, and a festive edition of Michael McIntyre’s ‘The Wheel’ at 6:45pm.

On Christmas Day, EastEnders will be shown at both 7:45pm and 9:45pm. As always, you can also watch The King’s Speech, and King Charles will deliver his traditional Christmas message at 3pm on BBC One.

This New Year’s Day, BBC One is offering a strong lineup of entertainment. The second season of The Night Manager begins at 9:05pm, and a new season of The Traitors – its fourth with non-celebrity contestants – starts at 8pm.

The Traitors season 4 will then continue on Friday 2nd January at 8pm with its second episode.

David Attenborough narrates a new film, Wild London, showcasing the diverse wildlife found in London. It will premiere on January 1st at 6:30pm.

If you’re hoping for some laughs this holiday season, there are lots of funny movies and shows to enjoy.

This Christmas, enjoy a special episode of Amandaland with a guest appearance by Jennifer Saunders, playing Amanda’s aunt, at 9:15pm. Following that, the popular Mrs Brown’s Boys will be on at 10:15pm on Christmas Day and again at 10:05pm on New Year’s Day.

I’m so excited for the New Year’s Eve and Day TV schedule! They’re showing a ‘Here We Go’ special at 8pm on New Year’s Eve, and then on New Year’s Day, I can’t wait to watch ‘Shedites’ – it’s from the hilarious team behind ‘Mrs Brown’s Boys’ and airs at 10:35pm.

This December, BBC One will broadcast a new Christmas comedy called ‘Stuffed’ starring Guz Khan at 9pm on December 23rd. BBC Two will also be showing Christmas specials, including a ‘Mammoth’ special at 10pm and a ‘Mandy’ special at 10:25pm on December 22nd.

This year, viewers can enjoy several non-scripted programs over the holidays. The Gladiators special will be broadcast on Christmas Day at 3:35pm, followed by a festive edition of The Repair Shop on Boxing Day at 7:30pm. The Celebrity Apprentice premieres on December 29th at 9pm, with the final episode airing the following night at the same time.

With all the buzz around The Night Manager on New Year’s Day, it’s understandable if you overlooked what happened the night before.

The BBC has a full lineup planned for New Year’s Eve! You can catch “Ronan Keating & Friends: New Year’s Eve Party” at 11:30pm, “The Graham Norton Show New Year’s Eve” at 10:30pm, and “Jools’ Annual Hootenanny” on BBC Two at 11:30pm.

That’s just a glimpse of what’s on offer! You can also enjoy Christmas quizzes like The Weakest Link (4:45pm Christmas Day), and a new spooky Christmas ghost story, The Room in the Tower (10pm Christmas Eve on BBC Two).

This year, the BBC is offering a great selection of films, including popular titles like Elvis, Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, Robin Robin, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Oppenheimer, Operation Mincemeat, Challengers, and Back to Black, to keep movie lovers happy.
