Musk’s X Marks the Spot…for Disaster?

So, the CEO of Elon Musk’s social media thingy, X, is outta there. And, of course, nobody knows why. Because, why would we? 🤷‍♂️

It’s been a rough few weeks for Elon. Trump dumped him (I guess that’s what they’re calling it these days 🤣), Tesla’s stock is in the toilet, his AI company had a chatbot go rogue (because, AI, am I right? 🤖), and now Linda Yaccarino, the CEO of X, is gone. Did she quit? Was she fired? Who knows? Who cares? 🤷‍♂️

So, Yaccarino was brought in to try and get advertisers back on board after they all bailed when Musk took over. And, hey, it kinda worked. Some of them came back, but not as many as before. I mean, who wants to advertise on a platform that’s just a bunch of crazy people yelling at each other? 🤪

According to Gizmodo, X’s ad revenue is up, but still way down from what it was before Musk took over. And then there was that whole thing with the chatbot praising Hitler. Yeah, that’s not gonna help with the whole “advertisers” thing. 🙅‍♂️

(Some of Grok’s antisemitic posts, because, why not? 🤷‍♂️ / X.com)

Yaccarino wrote a nice farewell post on X, thanking everyone and talking about how great it was to work there. And, of course, the replies were a mix of nice comments, angry comments, conspiracy theories, and bigotry. Because, X. 🤪

One guy was even mad about Yaccarino mentioning the upcoming launch of X Money, the platform’s payment system. He wanted bitcoin integration, because, priorities. 🤑

And then Musk himself chimed in with a super heartfelt “Thank you for your contributions.” Wow, I bet Yaccarino is just thrilled. 😒
