Among all the forthcoming Marvel films that have me thrilled, it’s “Spider-Man: Fresh Start” that I eagerly anticipate the most.
For quite a while now, I’ve been an ardent admirer of Spider-Man, dating back to my childhood days. As time passes and I mature, my affection for this superhero has actually intensified. With each new Spider-Man movie that hits the screens, it deepens, but more importantly, as the character evolves beyond its initial form.
With the success of the Spider-Verse movies and Beyond the Spider-Verse scheduled for release in 2027, my excitement for the next live-action Spider-Man has skyrocketed. However, since production on the new movie is rumored to start soon, according to ScreenDaily, I have one character I’d love to see make an appearance – and I believe you would agree as well.
Like Anyone, I’m Excited For Spider-Man: Brand New Day
Frankly speaking, I believe that some forthcoming Marvel films haven’t garnered as much excitement as they used to. Following the release of Endgame and numerous attempts at producing quality Marvel TV series, many fans have expressed a decreased interest in keeping up with the Marvel Cinematic Universe due to the constant influx of new content.
This trend resulted in numerous films failing to meet the high quality standard set by the MCU, earning significantly less than they previously would have. Nevertheless, many enthusiasts eagerly anticipate the upcoming film titled “Brand New Day“.
To be truthful, most of us didn’t anticipate another one being produced. It’s quite unprecedented for a fourth Spider-Man movie featuring the same actor to materialize. Unlike Tobey Maguire’s initial series which comprised only three films, and Andrew Garfield’s rendition that had just two, as the third film in each was discarded.
Four more movies featuring the beloved character Holland in Spider-Man’s suit are cause for celebration! It adds another film to the series where he will once again wear those iconic Spidey tights. The fact that an established favorite character continues to appear, amidst the influx of new characters, makes it all the more thrilling.

I Love The Regular Characters, But I Would Give Anything To See Silk
Even though regular characters are coming back, I must admit that I would love to see Silk.
If you’re unfamiliar with the character, Silk is actually Cindy Moon, a Korean-American student, who shares her origins with another famous character, Spider-Man (Peter), as they were both bitten by the same radioactive spider.
For a while, there had been plans for a Silk TV show, but unfortunately, those plans have fallen through. It’s hard not to imagine that her role in the upcoming movie could be a fantastic chance to present the character within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

With Portals Opening And Closing, There’s A Possibility She Could Appear In Some Capacity With Peter
Cindy Moon, who has not yet appeared as Silk in the Tom Holland movies, was hinted at in those films. Specifically, a character named “Cindy” was present in Spider-Man: Homecoming, which suggests that a version of Ms. Moon who assumes the role of Silk could potentially make an appearance.
A more pressing issue is the fact that we’re certain about the existence of multiple universes. Although the movie Spider-Man: No Way Home seemed to cater to fans at times, it did provide an essential role by demonstrating that there are alternate versions of Spider-Man. Imagine if Silk somehow made her way into our world from another universe; she could potentially contribute in such a scenario.
Given this context, it’s worth noting that in the comics, she and Peter had a romantic connection. However, personally, I hold M.J. and Peter in high regard, particularly given Tom Holland and Zendaya’s real-life bond. Yet, at present, M.J. is unaware of who Peter is because his identity has been obscured. As a result, it opens up the possibility for other characters to develop romantic relationships with him.

And Maybe If She’s There, We Could Have Other Female Heroes/Villains From Other Spider-Man Universes
A wide array of distinctive female characters, both heroines and villains, from various Spider-Man realms and narratives might make an appearance in this film. One that readily pops up is Black Cat, also known as Felicia Hardy, who has sparked speculation about potentially playing the antagonist in the upcoming saga titled “Brand New Day“.
She’s a burglar who frequently causes Peter endless trouble, yet strangely enough, they have an intricate relationship that fluctuates between on-again, off-again romantic entanglements. Given her unpredictable nature, it’s only fitting that she might pop up in different realities as well, thanks to the multiverse.
The options are endless, and it makes me wonder who they might bring into the fold.

With Everyone’s Memory Of Peter Literally Wiped Clean, So Many Avenues Could Open
Although the ending of “Spider-Man: No Way Home” is bittersweet in certain aspects, it feels as if Peter Parker’s life has started anew, providing ample opportunities for the introduction of fresh characters and captivating narratives that we haven’t seen before, thanks to the events that transpired.
Clearly, my affection for Zendaya’s M.J. and Jacob Batalon’s Ned, along with numerous other delightful characters that I’ve grown fond of, remains unchanged. However, for the Marvel Cinematic Universe to stay relevant, it is crucial that they introduce changes similar to this one.
Based on the leaks about the movie’s casting, it seems the film might focus more on a gritty, street-level portrayal of Spider-Man. If so, this could be an excellent opportunity to introduce lesser-known characters who won’t pose cosmic dangers.
It has been confirmed that The Punisher will make an appearance in ‘Brand New Day’. Given this, it’s plausible that Daredevil might also show up since both are street-level heroes. As for a street-level villain, it’s Black Cat, and if you’re seeking a hero, Silk could be the one.
Heck, at this rate, let’s bring in Miles Morales!
Setting jesting aside (I assure you I’m not joking), this is an astute decision by Marvel. While I’m unsure about their plans for “Brand New Day,” if they begin to emphasize the various characters Peter encounters in his comic book adventures, it could potentially pave the way for great success in the storyline.
As we approach the 2026 movie lineup, where “Spider-Man: A Fresh Start” is set to debut, I can hardly contain my excitement and have already started my countdown. Can’t wait to discover more updates in the near future!
