2026 promises a lot of exciting game releases, and Riot Games is starting the year strong with the console launch of 2XKO, their free-to-play fighting game.
Riot Games announced that their new game, 2XKO, will be available on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 in January 2026. While a specific date hasn’t been announced, it shouldn’t be long after the start of the month, and players can already add it to their wishlists.
2XKO features characters from Runeterra – the universe behind games like League of Legends and the animated series Arcane. Right now, you can play as 11 different champions, and the developers plan to add even more in the future.
A slow and steady launch

2XKO initially began as a closed beta on PC before becoming available in early access last October. The developers plan to keep the game online indefinitely, with ongoing updates and new characters added regularly throughout the early access period.
The game doesn’t have a set release date yet. Developers plan to continue updating and improving it, so they’re taking their time to ensure it’s ready.
2XKO will let players on all platforms – PC, Xbox, and PlayStation – play together. Plus, your progress, including all unlocked skins and items, will carry over no matter which platform you choose to play on.
Riot Games hasn’t announced any perks for Xbox Game Pass members yet. However, other games from Riot often give Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers benefits like immediate access to new characters.
We’ll have to wait and see if 2XKO is added into the existing Riot Games benefits later on.
