Rumour: Sony’s Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic PS5 Remake May Soon Return

Sony revealed plans for a revamped version of the beloved RPG Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, originally announced some time ago. This updated version will initially be available only on the PlayStation 5.

We first learned about this project in September 2021, but problems during development have caused major delays in getting it finished.

Now, rumour has it that it may finally be time for the game to make a reappearance.

A reliable source, Kurakasis, claims a major Star Wars game reveal is happening in the near future. They’ve since specified that the game’s name will include “The Old Republic.”

The remake of Knights of the Old Republic was initially being developed by Aspyr. However, development was switched to Saber Interactive, which has caused significant delays, and the game currently doesn’t have a release date.

All that’s currently available to the public about the project is a short, computer-generated teaser trailer. However, it’s no longer available on official platforms, likely because the music license has run out.

Despite a long silence, Saber Interactive confirms the game is still being worked on.

It would be fantastic to see this game reappear, perhaps with a more substantial reveal, and The Game Awards would be the perfect place to do it.

This rumor might be connected to a different project set in the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic world. Some people think it could be a strategy game similar to the Total War series, for instance.
