What is this feeling?
The nominations for the 2026 Golden Globes are out! The ceremony, hosted by Nikki Glaser and airing on CBS January 11th, saw several nods for the upcoming film Wicked: For Good. Cynthia Erivo was nominated for Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, and Ariana Grande received a nomination for Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture.
Okay, let’s talk about the movie! It was nominated for five awards total, and it did get recognized for its overall impact and box office success – which is fantastic! However, it didn’t quite snag the top prize for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy. And honestly, I was a little surprised Jon M. Chu wasn’t nominated for Best Director, given his amazing work!
I’m absolutely thrilled with how well Ryan Coogler’s Sinners is doing! This historical horror film, with Michael B. Jordan and Hailee Steinfeld, is just dominating awards season – it’s up for seven awards! While Michael rightfully got recognized for his incredible work playing two roles, I was really disappointed to see Hailee and Wunmi Mosaku overlooked. They both deserved nominations too, in my opinion.
Besides Sinners, several other plays received many nominations. Hamnet earned six nominations, and Frankenstein followed closely with five.
I was really excited to see the nominations announced, and while some shows were expected to do well, The White Lotus truly stood out! It led all the TV shows with an amazing six nominations, which honestly, didn’t surprise me at all given how brilliant it is.
Netflix’s Adolescence received five nominations, and the Hulu comedy Only Murders in the Building earned four. Notably, Selena Gomez, Steve Martin, and Martin Short all received nominations for their roles in the series.

The movie received five nominations in total, recognizing performers like Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, but it wasn’t nominated for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy.

Jacob Elordi received two Golden Globe nominations this year. He’s up for Best Supporting Actor for his work in the film Frankenstein, and also for his role in the series The Narrow Road to the Deep North.

Despite receiving seven Golden Globe nominations, including one for Michael B. Jordan, the film Sinners overlooked Wunmi Mosaku’s performance, failing to nominate her for her role as Annie.

The action thriller was the big winner, receiving nine award nominations, including a nod for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy.

Ugh, it’s just infuriating! My absolute favorite director, the one who made Wicked so unbelievably amazing, was completely overlooked for Best Director again! It doesn’t make any sense! The movie got five nominations, five! How can the film be so celebrated and they ignore the genius behind it? It’s a total injustice, honestly. I just… I can’t even. They need to recognize the brilliance!

Besides Wunmi, Hailee Steinfeld also didn’t receive recognition for her performance as Mary in Ryan Coogler’s film, Sinners.

The Netflix hit earned not just one, or two but three nominations for the animated film.

As a lifestyle expert, I’m always watching how actors impact their roles, and let me tell you, Regina Hall absolutely shined in ‘One Battle After Another,’ even with limited screen time. Her performance truly elevated the entire action-comedy – it really made a difference!
