With the final three episodes of the Doctor Who spin-off, ‘The War Between the Land and the Sea,’ nearing its release, new preview images have been shared with fans.
A still from this Sunday’s (December 14th) episode of the show, titled “The Deep,” depicts Prime Minister Harry Shaw (played by Vincent Franklin) appearing to be swayed by General Oscar Gunsberg (Stewart Alexander) and the scheming Sir Keith Spears (Patrick Baladi). The episode airs at 8:30pm on BBC One.
In another scene from the episode, a team headed by General Pierce, played by Colin McFarlane, investigates an underwater cave.
New photos from episode 4, “The Witch of the Waterfall,” reveal Samuel Oatley playing a water-dwelling creature called Tide. We also see Jemma Redgrave as Kate Lethbridge Stewart speaking at an event in the Empress Hall. This episode will air immediately after episode 3.

In another scene, Russell Tovey, playing Barclay Pierre-Dupont, and Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Salt, are shown having a serious discussion.

New photos have been shared for the fifth and final episode, “The End of the War,” which will air on Sunday, December 21st at 8:05pm.

One picture from the final episode, shown at the beginning of this article, features Salt calmly walking through the water. Another shows Barclay appearing to explain something to Kate and Shirley Anne Bingham, played by Ruth Madeley.

One photo shows Barclay standing with a group of UNIT soldiers. Another depicts Shirley, along with Private Jane Hart (played by Catherine Garton) and Sergeant Hana Chakri (played by Francesca Corney), all looking at something outside the frame.

Whatever it is, it seems to have got Sergeant Chakri upset, as she is seen with tears in her eyes.

Okay, so it looks like there’s a little hiccup with Google’s security check, reCAPTCHA. Apparently, it’s blocking me from seeing whatever this is! The site is saying I need to log out of something called ‘Contentpass’ first, and then I should be able to view it. A bit annoying, but hopefully, that fixes it!
As a long-time Doctor Who fan, I’m really intrigued about where the show is headed! Jemma Redgrave recently hinted that things could get pretty dangerous for Kate Lethbridge-Stewart – she’s been a part of the Doctor Who universe since way back in 2012, appearing in ‘The Power of Three’, and it sounds like her character might be facing some real trouble.

Honestly, playing this character has been an incredible experience, taking me through all the different eras of Doctor Who and now this latest show. Every time I get asked to return, it genuinely feels like such a wonderful surprise – a real gift. I hope it continues for a long time to come!

You can watch the next episode of The War Between the Land and the Sea on BBC One and BBC iPlayer this Sunday, December 14th, at 8:30pm.
