Ten years after it first aired, Tom Hiddleston is reprising his role as Jonathan Pine in The Night Manager. A trailer for the new season has just been released. The original spy thriller, which premiered on Prime Video in 2016, starred Hiddleston as a hotel manager who becomes a spy, working alongside Olivia Colman’s character, Angela Burr, to stop an arms dealer played by Hugh Laurie.
Even though the first season of The Night Manager was popular and well-received, it’s taken a full decade for a second season to finally come together.
I just watched the trailer for The Night Manager season 2 and I’m so excited! Tom Hiddleston and Olivia Colman are back, and it looks like their characters are diving into another really intense case. Apparently, a secret group is plotting something huge that could undo everything they achieved in the first season – it sounds like a proper conspiracy is brewing!
The trailer starts by showing what Jonathan Pine has been up to since his confrontation with Richard Roper. While his life has become more mundane, that’s about to change when he gets a new mission: taking down an arms dealer who has ties to Roper.
Teddy Dos Santos is illegally bringing weapons into Colombia, and Pine suspects that British intelligence is assisting him. This situation allows Hiddleston’s character to operate as a hidden threat within their organization.
The trailer shows several quick glimpses of Burr looking anxious. At one point, she and Pine argue, with him claiming she wasn’t truthful with him. She defends herself, saying, “I had no choice. I saw an opportunity to take down everyone involved.”
The show then delivers exciting action scenes, giving viewers a taste of how captivating the second season of The Night Manager will be.
Take a look at The Night Manager season 2 trailer below:

Similar to the first season, the new series will be released one episode per week. The first three episodes will be available starting January 11th, and the final episode will arrive on February 1st on Prime Video.
When The Night Manager debuted in 2016, it received excellent reviews – earning a 91% rating on Rotten Tomatoes – and was nominated for 12 Emmy Awards, recognizing the performances of Tom Hiddleston, Hugh Laurie, and Olivia Colman, among others.
Susanne Bier received the award for Outstanding Directing of a Limited Series, Movie, or Dramatic Special, while Victor Reyes won for Outstanding Music Composition – specifically, the original dramatic score for a limited series, movie, or special.
The next year at the Golden Globes, Hiddleston, Laurie, and Colman each took home an award, and the show was also up for Best Limited Series or TV Movie.
Since appearing in the first season, Hiddleston has become a major movie star, with roles in hits like Thor: Ragnarok, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame. He later led his own popular Disney+ series, Loki.
Colman has appeared in films like Wonka, Paddington in Peru, and The Roses. She’s also known for her role as Queen Elizabeth II in the series The Crown.
Hugh Laurie and Tom Hiddleston are working together again for season two of The Night Manager. Based on the trailer, the new season promises to be full of thrilling action and suspense.
The Night Manager season 2 premieres Sunday, January 11, 2026, on Prime Video.
