Ghost of Yotei Fans May Have Already Spotted a Nod to Ghost of Tsushima

Following the unveiling of Ghost of Yotei by PlayStation and Sucker Punch during the July 10th State of Play, keen-eyed fans noticed an interesting detail. In a stack of armor, including headpieces, they spotted what could potentially hint at an Easter egg related to Ghost of Tsushima. The upcoming game is set 300 years after the original, and although Jin’s story has concluded, there’s a chance fans might encounter more of Ghost of Tsushima in some form or another within the sequel.

At the 13:29 minute point in the “State of Play Gameplay Deep Dive” video, a helmet similar to Jin’s armor from “Ghost of Tsushima” was noticed. This appearance suggests ties to the Sakai clan and potentially more connections to the original game. It could be a subtle tribute or Easter egg, but fans are speculating that it may mean something more. Additionally, one of the helmet’s horns appears broken, leading some to ponder if this could foreshadow Jin’s destiny.

In the game titled Ghost of Yotei, we find a fresh main character named Atsu, and the story unfolds after it’s assumed that Jin has passed away. Nevertheless, there might be a mission involving flashbacks that recounts Jin’s tale, possibly granting players a short stint as him. If the Legends mode resurfaces in Ghost of Yotei, this could suggest that Jin may be playable within this mode.

It’s suggested that in the game “Ghost of Yotei”, it’s probable that a Sakai armor set will be available for players to acquire and equip. This could happen if Atsu comes across a relative of the Sakai clan. The story might involve helping this family member, with the helmet being given as a reward. However, neither PlayStation nor Sucker Punch have verified any “Ghost of Tsushima” content in the sequel, but this might be an early hint about its appearance.
