For all UK enthusiasts of South Park, here’s some important news: The much-loved mature animated show will no longer be accessible for streaming outside the United States on Paramount Plus. This means that viewers in our region will unfortunately no longer be able to watch the series on this particular platform.
As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, the absence of the series from Paramount Plus is attributed to the expiration of their international streaming license. Yet, there are ongoing talks between the platform and the series’ creators, with a goal to bring the show back online for all viewers as soon as negotiations are finalized.
For now, UK and global viewers have the option to stream South Park special episodes exclusively on Paramount Plus. This collection features South Park: Post-COVID, South Park: The Streaming Wars, South Park: The End of Obesity, South Park: Joining The Panderverse, as well as the first movie, South Park: Bigger Longer & Uncut.
UK fans can watch repeats of the series on Comedy Central, though, so all hope is not lost.

It’s not really shocking that there’s been some recent news about delays in episode releases, given the secretive struggles that show creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone have been having with Paramount Global over streaming rights. This conflict has also played a part in postponing the premiere of season 27.
The initial plan was to debut on July 9th, but it has now been rescheduled for the 23rd. This change doesn’t seem to sit well with Parker and Stone.
On the South Park X Twitter account, a post was shared saying: “Regarding Comedy Central’s press release about the shift in South Park’s premiere date, Trey Parker & Matt Stone commented – ‘This merger is chaos and it’s disrupting South Park. We are diligently working on new episodes, and we hope the fans find a way to enjoy them.’
As a movie enthusiast, I eagerly await the premiere of season 27 in the US this month. Unfortunately, for those of us outside the US, we must be patient, hoping for favorable streaming negotiations so that we too can conveniently enjoy both past and present episodes.
As a movie critic, I’ve been hearing quite a stir among fans over the sudden disappearance of their beloved South Park episodes from Paramount Plus. Here’s what I’ve pieced together: It seems that due to the expiration of the rights window, Paramount Plus no longer holds the license to stream this iconic series. Consequently, it had to bid farewell from the platform, leaving fans understandably disgruntled.
If you’d like to end your Paramount+ subscription and lose any current promotions, could you kindly provide the email address linked to the account you want to close? As soon as we have your details, we will confirm that your subscription has been successfully canceled.
