Taylor Swift Has a Ball at Travis Kelce’s High School Football Reunion

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce‘s latest date night was so high school.

The couple, who have been together for two years, recently had a chance to reconnect with Travis’ former high school football coach, Jeff Rotsky, while in Kansas City, Missouri.

Jeff shared on X (formerly Twitter) on December 17th how wonderful his weekend in Kansas City was. He said it was amazing to watch and spend time with Travis Kelce, his family, and six former players.

He continued, “ANYONE WHO DOUBTED TRAV HAS BEEN PROVEN WRONG. SO PROUD OF HIM & HIS FUTURTopMob”

Jeff posted some pictures from the event, and one of them showed Taylor chatting with other people at the reunion in the background.

The coach, now leading the football team at Villa Angela-St. Joseph High School after previously coaching at Travis’s high school, Heights High in Ohio, is equally enthusiastic about the singer known as “So High School.”

Jeff told The Times in October that she’s incredibly kind and genuine. He recalled their first meeting, saying her first words were, ‘I’ve been looking forward to meeting you, and I want to hear everything about Travis!’

That’s why he was thrilled when Travis popped the question to Taylor over the summer.

Jeff acknowledged that while football is enjoyable, this moment is about something much more important. He expressed his happiness for his friend’s upcoming marriage and shared his excitement about the possibility of him becoming a father in the future.

He added, “I pray for little Kelces running around here in the next couple years.”

 

Although Taylor and Travis, both 36, haven’t announced any plans for a family yet, they’re already discussing ideas for their wedding. Taylor mentioned the guest list will be very large.

She explained on The Graham Norton Show in October that the only weddings she finds stressful are small ones where it’s unclear who should be invited. Because of this, she said she avoids having those kinds of weddings.

As a huge Taylor fan, I just know if Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce ever get married, it won’t be on just any random date. It has to be a day that means something special to them, and honestly, I’m betting it’ll be a date that’s significant to Taylor, given how much thought she puts into everything!

As someone who really enjoys exploring life’s patterns, I’m a huge fan of numerology – I just love numbers, dates, and finding meaning in them! I was having a blast chatting about this on the New Heights podcast recently. It’s funny because the episode aired on August 13th, and they announced their engagement just 13 days later. I’m so excited for Travis and his future wife! One thing that’s still up in the air is when they’ll actually get married. It all depends on his football career. He’s got a contract that runs through the 2025 season, and if he decides to keep playing after that, they’re planning a wedding during the off-season – sometime between the Super Bowl in February and when training camp begins in July. If he retires, who knows, maybe it’ll be sooner!

If Travis retires after his 13th season—which is hard to believe—he’ll be able to get married, potentially in October, Taylor’s favorite month. The exact timing will depend on whether Taylor announces a tour for her new album, The Life of a Showgirl, which was released on October 3rd, and when that tour might be.

Taylor Swift is famous for her close friendships with many celebrities, but she revealed in October 2025 that she hadn’t started planning her bachelorette party yet.

She shared on U.K.’s Heart Breakfast that people might assume she always dreamed of her wedding, but she actually never gave it much thought until she met the person she wanted to marry.

I hadn’t even considered planning a bachelorette party until now,” she said. “It’s actually the first time it’s crossed my mind.

Plus, she added of her gal pals, “They’re so fun but they’re so busy.”

When Taylor picks out a white dress, it’s going to be one to remember.

Oh my gosh, Travis always kills it with his style, so you just know his wedding suit is going to be amazing! He’s not going to play it safe, that’s for sure – he’s going to have so much fun with whatever he chooses, and I seriously can’t wait to see it!

Okay, so he proposed in shorts – it was August in Kansas, super humid, you have to understand! – and the internet immediately lost it, challenging him to wear fancy shorts for the wedding too! Honestly, while I’d love to see that rebellious streak, he’s probably smart enough to know the day should be about her, you know? She’ll be gorgeous in her dress, and he doesn’t want to upstage her, even if a little fashion statement would be epic.

In a 2012 interview with Cosmopolitan, Taylor Swift clarified that she hadn’t already chosen a tuxedo for her future husband, explaining she wanted him to feel like his presence truly mattered.

Taylor and Travis both value family above all else, so their parents and brothers are naturally key figures in the wedding plans. Jason Kelce, likely to be Travis’s best man, shares two young daughters, Wyatt and Elliotte, with his wife Kylie. Depending on the wedding date, his younger daughter, Bennett, might also be a flower girl. Unfortunately, the youngest, baby Finnley, will probably be too little to participate.

It will be interesting to see which of Travis Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs teammates are invited, but he was a groomsman at Patrick Mahomes and Brittany Mahomes’ wedding in 2022, so we know at least one teammate, plus coach Andy Reid, will be there. He’s also maintained a close group of friends from his high school days in Cleveland Heights, so his bachelor party—filled with golf and drinks—is going to be a lot of fun.

Taylor Swift’s childhood friend, Abigail Anderson, continues to be a close and important person in her life. Though her group of friends has changed over time, Selena Gomez remains a core member, frequently exchanging gifts with Taylor. Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are also still part of her inner circle, despite recent reports of a falling out connected to Blake’s legal issues.

Also, Taylor is already a godmother to Blake and Ryan’s daughters, so she’s familiar with the role of a special helper at a wedding.

Honestly, I’m already imagining one of their friends getting ordained just to marry them – it would be so them! Though, let’s be real, while it would be amazing, I don’t think Flavor Flav is going to be the one up there doing the honors, sadly. Still, a girl can dream!

On the September 17th episode of New Heights, Travis shared his preference for live music, saying, “I think we’re just people who enjoy bands.”

Even if the bride doesn’t perform, she has plenty of talented friends who are great singers. We’re particularly hoping to see Haim take the stage!

But Taylor joked it “would be hard to keep” Ed Sheeran from performing at her wedding. 

She explained that Ed Sheeran is driven to perform, saying, ‘If there’s a stage, he knows he’ll be on it.’ She added that he understands his audience and is dedicated to giving them what they enjoy, as she shared during an interview with Hits Radio in October 2025.

Taylor may love Travis so much she’d marry him with paper rings, but that won’t be the case.

If he continues to play sports, he might switch to a flexible wedding band, but for now, Kourtney’s engagement ring—an Old Mine Brilliant Cut diamond chosen by Travis from Artifex Fine Jewelry’s Kindred Lubeck—is the one he selected for her.

The ring has a long, central diamond with smaller diamonds on either side, all set in yellow gold that’s been specially engraved. It perfectly complements the $27,300 Cartier watch he used when he proposed.

Just how massive will this white veil occasion be?

Taylor Swift explained on The Graham Norton Show in October that she preferred not to deal with the stress of deciding who to exclude from her guest list. She said making cuts would force her to carefully consider and judge her relationships with people.

And, she added, “I’m not gonna do that.”

Comedian Nikki Glaser, a self-proclaimed Taylor Swift fan, believes a large wedding is on the way. She told TopMob News at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards, “Everything has been building up to this moment.”

The comedian pointed out that because Taylor Swift is constantly in the spotlight – essentially ‘a bride’ every day – her wedding will probably be kept very private.

Nikki said she knows the person just wants to share the celebration with everyone they care about, as they have a large circle of friends and family. She jokingly added that she’s anticipating photos of a helicopter flying overhead, somehow managing to disrupt the happy occasion.

Okay, so they’re finally gone, off on their honeymoon! But honestly? There’s no way Taylor isn’t going to start showing us glimpses of the wedding soon. Like, zero chance. She lives for sharing moments with us, and this is the biggest moment of her life! I’m already refreshing my feeds, I just know something amazing is coming!
