The final season of My Hero Academia premiered this fall and finished airing in December 2025 with 11 episodes released weekly. Fans loved each episode, and they showed it by giving every one a rating above 9 on IMDb. This makes My Hero Academia the first full-length anime season to ever achieve such high scores across the board.
The series finale was exceptional, with Studio Bones skillfully adapting the original story and bringing Deku’s ten-year anime adventure to a satisfying conclusion. However, some episodes within the final season were particularly memorable. Here, we’ll rank those standout episodes and discuss what made them so effective.
11) Episode 160 “Toshinori Yagi: Rising/Origin”

This episode kicks off the exciting final arc. It starts with a dramatic scene of All Might, before he had a quirk, battling All For One, but this fight was actually started in the previous season. Because of this, the first part of the episode mainly serves as a quick reminder of how the battle began last season.
The latter part of the episode showcases heroes winning battles in various locations, and it concludes with an unexpected scene: Stain unexpectedly siding with All Might. While the episode was good overall, other episodes in the finale were more memorable.
10) Episode 169 “The Girl Who Loves Smiles”

The next-to-last episode of My Hero Academia focuses on what happens after the big final battle. We see the original students of Class 1-A starting to build their lives and look toward the future. From Deku talking with Spinner and sharing Shigaraki’s last thoughts, to Uraraka finally finding emotional peace, the episode provides a satisfying sense of closure after such a long story.
Watching this episode really drove home how much everything has changed the characters – even the villains. I was particularly struck by Uraraka wanting to help Toga; it felt like a powerful statement that being a hero isn’t just about winning fights, but about offering help and compassion whenever you can, before it’s too late.
9) Episode 168 “Epilogue, The Hellish Todoroki Family: Final”

This episode starts the story after the big final battle between Deku and Shigaraki, and shows how everyone worked together to defeat All For One. It slowly reveals how much the war has changed society, and how heroes are now helping to rebuild everything that was destroyed.
Wow, this latest episode was intense! Seeing Bakugo completely fall apart when he found out Deku was losing his quirk again was heartbreaking, and then the episode just kept building from there. The way it ended, with the Todoroki family finally facing Dabi, really showed how much things are changing in hero society. It was amazing to see Endeavor starting to deal with the consequences of his actions, and honestly, the biggest shock was finding out Dabi actually survived and just wanted his father’s acceptance. That reveal alone makes this episode one of the best yet!
8) Episode 164 “History’s Greatest Villain”

Following Bakugo’s battle with All For One and a look into the villain’s past, the story now focuses on the ultimate showdown between Deku and Shigaraki. This fight makes it clear that Deku still has a long way to go to match Shigaraki’s power. Driven by a desire to destroy everything, Shigaraki solidifies his place as the most formidable villain the series has ever seen.
Shigaraki gains a huge advantage over Deku, even taking away his ability to sense danger, making it hard to see how Deku can win. After a series of near defeats, a surprising turn of events occurs: Deku chooses to fight back using his own powers, aiming to destroy All For One from the inside, even if it means losing his quirks permanently. This moment marks a crucial turning point in the battle.
7) Episode 165 “Wrench It Open”

This episode shows Deku continuing his plan with the help of the previous One For All users. Despite a tough fight, he’s determined to transfer his quirks. It’s a great example of Deku’s smarts in battle, as he expertly dodges Shigaraki’s attacks while still trying to move forward.
This episode skillfully builds anticipation for the climax by highlighting how much everyone believes in Midoriya and how dedicated they are to helping him. The episode culminates with Deku finally landing the punch fans have been waiting for, effectively marking the start of the final battle’s resolution.
6) Episode 161 “The End of an Era, and the Beginning”

The second episode of the final season is particularly memorable because it features All Might’s last battle. Though he expects to die fighting, he gets an unlikely assist from the villain Stain, who intervenes to help defeat All For One.
The episode reaches its climax as All Might fights his last battle, ultimately being defeated by All For One, who intends to publicly end the hero’s time. But in a surprising turn of events, Bakugo recovers, determined to save All Might and make amends for his previous actions.
5) Episode 167 “From Aizawa”

The episode begins right after Deku pushes all of his One For All abilities into Shigaraki, but they discover that Nana Shimura’s power wasn’t transferred along with them. Realizing her son never accepted her, Nana forces the transfer to happen, enabling Deku to connect with and rescue the child version of Shigaraki, Tenko Shimura, who is trapped inside.
The latest episode reveals the heartbreaking story of how All For One manipulated Shigaraki into becoming a villain. After being separated, All For One possesses Shigaraki’s body, returning as the ultimate enemy. Meanwhile, Deku loses his quirk and both hands. However, the episode ends on a hopeful note as Aizawa receives assistance from Kurogiri, and through teamwork, Deku regains his hands. Filled with crucial plot developments, this episode is considered one of the strongest of the final season.
4) Episode 163 “Qurik: Explosion”

Bakugo’s fight against All For One was a major highlight of My Hero Academia, and his win was a powerful moment showcasing his heroic strength. The episode was also notable for finally explaining All For One’s backstory and how he became a villain.
The latest episode cleverly connects to the larger story by revealing that Kudo, who looks a lot like Bakugo, was once All For One’s biggest challenge. This sets the stage for Bakugo ultimately defeating All For One and saving All Might, solidifying his place as a truly legendary hero.
3) Episode 170 “My Hero Academia”

With episode 170, My Hero Academia wraps up its story with a remarkably satisfying ending. The final scenes jump forward in time, showing how Deku’s efforts have transformed society. People are now inspired to be heroes themselves, finding the strength to help those around them.
The episode jumps nearly ten years into the future, showing us what happened to all the students of Class 1-A. We learn that Deku is now a teacher at U.A., living without his quirk but still dedicated to inspiring new heroes. A special gift from All Might – a high-tech suit – unexpectedly gives Deku the chance to be a hero again. This finale delivers what many consider to be one of the most satisfying conclusions ever for a shonen anime like My Hero Academia.
2) Episode 162 “The Final Boss”

Bakugo’s return was more impressive than anyone could have imagined, and Studio Bones clearly went all-out to create a truly memorable scene in My Hero Academia. The animation, music, and story all came together flawlessly, making his rise to saving All Might one of the best sequences in anime history.
I was completely floored when Bakugo showed up, seemingly back from the dead, and immediately started helping All Might – it was incredible how well he and Izuku worked together. Honestly, it felt like that moment could have been the peak of the whole finale. But then the next episode came along, and it just hit differently. It wasn’t just exciting, it had a much deeper meaning, and ended up being even more impactful.
1) Episode 167 “Izuku Midoriya Rising”

The final battle episode has become a fan favorite, with many calling it the best of the season, and even the year. It’s not just that it brings the action to a satisfying close, but it also brilliantly showcases what makes Deku such a great hero and how his decisions capture the heart of My Hero Academia’s message.
Deku proves himself as a truly inspiring hero, and the episode culminates in a heartwarming show of support from everyone around him, particularly his classmates from Class 1-A. The animation is stunning, filled with small details that highlight their shared history. This all makes the episode one of the best of My Hero Academia, and a clear highlight of the final season.
