Bitch Planet, a comic book series published by Image Comics between 2014 and 2017, explores feminist themes through the lens of exploitation films. Created by writer Kelly Sue DeConnick and artist Valentine De Landro, the initial series ran for 10 issues, followed by a five-issue continuation. The story is set in a world where women deemed “non-compliant” are sent to a remote prison called the Auxiliary Compliance Outpost. While critically acclaimed and popular with fans, the series paused after the tenth issue. It’s a thoughtfully written and beautifully illustrated book that tackles tough topics and isn’t always easy to read, as it encourages readers to confront challenging issues.

Science fiction is unique because it welcomes both completely new ideas and fresh takes on old ones. As science and society evolve, revisiting classic and overlooked sci-fi shows can be a great idea. We’ve already highlighted five series deserving a reboot, but there are so many good ones that we wanted to share five more that would really benefit from a modern update.

With so many heroes needed, some of the MCU’s most powerful characters, like Captain Marvel and Doctor Strange, surprisingly aren’t involved in the upcoming conflict. Here’s how I’d rank them based on how good they feel to play.

Disney+’s Spidey and His Amazing Friends follows young heroes Spidey, Ghost Spider, and Spin as they protect their city from villains like Green Goblin and Rhino. The show often features appearances from other Marvel characters, including Black Panther, Jeff the Land Shark, and Ms. Marvel. It’s a great, simple introduction to the Marvel universe for younger viewers, and it’s currently the most popular Marvel show available for streaming, significantly outperforming other Marvel TV series.
