ACQUIRE and Red Dunes Games announce multi-year collaboration to develop global IPs

Red Dunes Games, a game creator based in the United Arab Emirates, has revealed a long-term partnership with ACQUIRE, a developer from Tokyo. Their aim is to jointly produce a range of unique concepts, seamlessly combining exceptional Japanese artistry with daring, innovative ideas.

In a press statement, Sultan Darmaki, CEO and creative head of Red Dunes Games, expressed his delight about collaborating with the iconic ACQUIRE studio to create new, original games. He emphasized that this partnership underscores their conviction that the future of gaming involves international cooperation – where narratives transcend boundaries, and innovation thrives regardless of location.

Acquire is recognized for creating popular games like Tenchu, Way of the Samurai, AKIBA’S TRIP, and Octopath Traveler.

As ACQUIRE, a studio that has long appreciated Japan’s unique approach to game development, we are excited to team up with Red Dunes Games on an exciting global project,” said ACQUIRE CEO Takuma Endo. “We’ve always admired the power of originality. With Red Dunes, we’re creating something truly global.

The first wave of projects between the co-developers is as follows:

  • Project Tremor – City-shaking kaiju battles.
  • Project Umbra – Dark fantasy hunts.
  • Project Shadowcar – Shadowy espionage thriller.

As an enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that each game title we’re releasing offers a unique genre and perspective. These games are set to debut on both PC and leading gaming consoles, with plans for worldwide distribution, multi-lingual support, and unveilings at prestigious events like the Tokyo Game Show.

In Red Dunes Games’ strategic plan for the future, this partnership serves as a crucial foundation. This strategy encompasses both publishing and joint development of games, blending innovative homegrown ideas with a universal perspective, forging ties within the industry, and upholding a promise to tell diverse and engaging stories.
