EastEnders airs deadly confrontation for Zoe Slater and Anthony Trueman in Christmas Day cliffhanger

EastEnders delivered another exciting Christmas episode, and there’s still plenty more to come – another 90 minutes, in fact!

Zoe Slater was upset with Anthony Trueman after discovering he’d lied to her about what happened to her twin babies.

Everyone knew the Moons’ plan for a community Christmas dinner would be eventful, but no one expected the chaos that actually unfolded.

Jasmine Fisher, who was struggling with personal issues, had a secret meeting with the manipulative Chrissie Watts on Edward Road. Meanwhile, Zoe was eagerly waiting for her son, who she hadn’t seen in a while.

She believed her daughter had passed away in the hospital. She didn’t know Jasmine was that daughter, or that Jasmine and Chrissie were working together.

Kat, noticing how thrilled Zoe was to be meeting her son, decided to share what Anthony had told her. However, their conversation was quickly cut short when Chelsea Fox arrived and revealed the real story.

Chelsea revealed that Anthony, driven by spite, had falsely claimed the twins were dead. He did this hoping to locate them before anyone else and damage Zoe’s reputation, all to manipulate the twins and gain their trust.

Furious after discovering the truth, Kat rushed downstairs and demanded he leave. She told him that if their children were ever found, he wouldn’t be allowed to have any contact with them.

Anthony’s father, Patrick, was deeply disgusted by what Anthony had done, and shockingly admitted he wished his deceased son, Paul, was still alive instead.

Little did Patrick know, his wish was about to come true…

Anthony returned to The Vic and got into a heated argument with Zoe. She confronted him, demanding to know if he was the one who had been bothering her and if he was responsible for the Christmas card she received, supposedly from her son.

A fight broke out, and she told him to leave. During the struggle, he hit his head on the kitchen doorframe, and he then slammed her head against the staircase railing, knocking her unconscious.

Chrissie bumped into her old enemy, Sam Mitchell, while walking towards the pub. She claimed she was just visiting to reminisce, but it was obvious she had other plans.

Kat heard a disturbance coming from upstairs and went to investigate. She discovered Zoe on the floor, and tragically, Anthony was there too – he had died.

But who killed Anthony if Zoe was out cold?
