As a big fantasy and sci-fi fan, I was thrilled to see The Golden Compass added to the platform earlier this month! It’s joined by some other favorites like Eragon, Dredd, Beautiful Creatures, and I Am Number Four. I remember seeing The Golden Compass when it came out in 2007 – it’s based on Philip Pullman’s Northern Lights, and the cast is amazing – Nicole Kidman, Sam Elliott, Eva Green, Dakota Blue Richards, and even Daniel Craig are all in it!

Now, it’s confirmed that a sequel will arrive in July 2026, almost a year after the original. Star Trek: Red Shirts – Ghost of the 21st Century will be written by Gerry Duggan, with art by Scott Buoncristiano. Simply put, one of the best new Star Trek comics in recent years is getting a sequel with a talented creative team.
