This week’s finale of Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake wrapped up the story of Fionna, Cake, and the Huntress Wizard rescuing Finn and multiple universes. The season ended with new relationships and a positive outcome for many characters, but a scene after the credits hinted at a major challenge for a possible third season. Although Warner Bros. hasn’t confirmed another season for the spin-off, the final scene gives fans a strong clue about what the next big storyline could be.
Please be aware that this article contains major spoilers for the season finale of Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake. The finale reveals Finn is rescued and develops a stronger connection with the Huntress Wizard, giving us a glimpse into his life after the original series ended. Meanwhile, Fionna and Cake are enjoying their accomplishments. The scene after the credits focuses on Marshall Lee, who is busking on the street when he gets a surprising visitor: Hunson Abadeer, Marceline the Vampire Queen’s father. Hunson Abadeer has always been a villain on Adventure Time, and this appearance suggests Marshall might have more in common with Marceline than we thought.

What is Happening in Oooo?
The biggest mystery after Hunson showed up in the season two finale is how he traveled from the Land of Ooo to the world of Fionna and Cake. Although a third season could likely explain this, Warner Bros. hasn’t confirmed if the show will continue. We’ve seen characters move between dimensions before, and given how strong Hunson seems, it’s plausible he achieved this on his own. We still don’t know what Hunson is planning, but it’s possible he’ll turn Marshall into a vampire as part of his scheme.
Even though a second season of Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake hasn’t been officially announced, there’s still a lot more Adventure Time coming! A new spin-off called Heyo BMO is aimed at younger viewers, and Adventure Time: Side Quests will bring back Finn and Jake for new adventures. Plus, a full-length Adventure Time movie is planned, though details are still under wraps. The original cartoon has been incredibly popular for Warner Bros., and with Netflix potentially merging with Warner Bros., it will be interesting to see what happens with Fionna and Cake in the future.
