Animated movies are consistently popular with audiences. Starting with the very first animated film, Fantasmagorie in 1908, animation has proven to be a strong way to tell stories. It’s grown immensely in popularity, giving us beloved classics like Disney’s Snow White and Cinderella, as well as more recent blockbusters such as Ne Zha. Now, one of the greatest animated movies ever made is leaving Netflix, even as the platform’s K Pop Demon Hunters continues to be a worldwide hit.

Released in 2000, Chicken Run was a huge hit and continues to be a beloved film over twenty years later. It was the first full-length movie from Aardman Animations, created by founders Peter Lord and Nick Park, and used their unique stop-motion animation with clay. The story follows a group of chickens trying to escape from a farm before they become pies. While Chicken Run will no longer be available on Netflix after January 1st, other Aardman films like Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget and Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl will remain on the streaming service.
