Spy x Family Has Bad News For Fans Waiting For Season 4

I recently watched the start of Spy x Family Season 3, which began airing in October as part of the Fall lineup, and I was immediately hooked. They opened with Loid’s surprisingly sad past, and the season has been a real emotional ride ever since – it mixes genuinely touching moments with some really silly comedy. We’ve seen the characters get into some incredibly dangerous situations! The season adapted both the Friendship Schemes Arc, where Yor starts a friendship with Melinda Desmond (Donovan’s wife) – a relationship that’s clearly going to be important later on – and the Bus Hijacking Arc. That arc was particularly great, showing just how brave Anya can be, and it gave us a really unsettling look inside Melinda’s head.

The latest season leaves viewers with more questions about Melinda, especially as it’s revealed she has a very strained relationship with her son, Damian. The season concludes during the intense Wheeler Arc, where spies from Westalis and Ostania are racing to find the person who stole top-secret documents, potentially endangering the already delicate peace between their nations. Many consider the season finale to be one of the best episodes yet, and fans are eagerly awaiting news about a fourth season. While the series hasn’t been officially renewed, there’s another exciting development for fans to anticipate.

Spy x Family Season 4 Will Take Longer Than Expected

It’s typical for a hit anime like Spy x Family to get a new season announcement right after the current one ends. But instead, the anime’s official X account revealed details about a special event happening on November 8th, 2026. Called Extra Mission II, the event will feature the voice actors from the show. A similar event took place over two and a half years ago, where the cast performed live dubbing and shared stories about making the anime.

It’s possible we’ll hear about season four at the event, but nothing is official yet. This means fans will have to wait longer for the story to continue – potentially until 2027 or beyond. Because previous seasons haven’t been released on a consistent schedule, it’s hard to guess when the new season might arrive. Although the wait is frustrating, the extra time will give the studio plenty of source material, as new chapters of the manga are being released every two weeks.

Season four promises to be even more captivating, drawing from the Term Finals, Love and War, and Term Break story arcs – each filled with unexpected twists and emotional scenes. You can currently watch the first three seasons on Crunchyroll and Netflix. If you prefer reading, the manga is available on the Manga Plus and Shonen Jump apps, and you can find all the chapters and purchase options on the official Viz Media website.
