7 Best Sci-Fi Horror Movies, Ranked

As a huge cinema fan, I’ve always felt that horror and science fiction just go together. Sci-fi often presents these really unsettling ideas, but horror is what makes them truly frightening – it makes you feel that dread in your gut. It takes those abstract, thought-provoking concepts and turns them into real, physical reactions – fear, disgust, anxiety. When these genres combine, it’s like a perfect storm. Technology feels like an invasion, science becomes something you can’t trust, and even discovery can be deeply traumatizing. It’s a kind of filmmaking that really uses your imagination against you, turning things like labs, spaceships, and even the human body into sources of pure, existential terror.

4 Years Ago, South Park’s Longest Joke Changed a Fan-Favorite Character After Two Decades (And It Worked)

Tolkien Black first appeared in the very first episode of South Park alongside the other kids. Over time, he’s become a more significant part of the group dynamic with Stan, Cartman, and the others, receiving more screen time. In an episode that aired four years ago today, February 9, 2022, South Park revealed his full name to be “Tolkien Black” – a backstory change that fans widely accepted.

Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Drops a New Release As Season 2 Continues

The new ending theme is quickly becoming a fan favorite, and a full music video has just been released featuring scenes from the latest season. The video showcases all the characters who’ve appeared so far—not just the main ones—and emphasizes the connections between Frieren’s current and past companions as they overcome obstacles on their journey. The song’s CD will be available on March 4th, 2026, and you can already pre-order it on Amazon Japan, which will include the new music video as a bonus.

2XKO Is Already in Trouble Less Than a Month After Release

I was pretty shocked to read on Riot’s website today that they’re significantly reducing the team working on 2XKO. Apparently, Tom Cannon, the executive producer, said they’ve been looking at how players are actually using the game since launch and noticed some concerning patterns. It’s tough, but some of the developers might get to move into other roles at Riot, and those who are being laid off will at least get six months of severance. Cannon seems to think this will actually help 2XKO in the long run, which I’m hoping is true.

One of the Best Game Boy Advance Games Released on February 9 (And It’s Free on Nintendo Switch Online)

Today marks the 22nd anniversary of Metroid: Zero Mission, a remake of the original Metroid game for the Game Boy Advance. While it’s a highly-rated game, many fans actually consider Metroid Fusion, released in 2002, to be the better Game Boy Advance title. Metroid Fusion is often ranked among the top three best games on the system, alongside Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3 and The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past & Four Swords.

Netflix is About to Lose a Chilling Thriller Gem Not Enough People Watched (So Hurry Up)

The movie Rogue Agent tells the story of Robert Freegard (played by James Norton), a master con artist who pretends to be a secret MI5 agent. He manipulates and holds many people captive while evading capture. His elaborate scheme ultimately unravels when a woman he’s involved with (Gemma Arterton) exposes him. The film is as unbelievable as the true story it’s based on, and while it doesn’t quite capture all the tension of the real events, it’s still a very entertaining watch.

Catherine Zeta-Jones Sets New Psycho-Thriller ‘Cupid’

According to Variety, Catherine Zeta-Jones will star in Cupid, a new psychological thriller directed by Tate Taylor (known for Ma and The Help). She’ll play an unconventional marriage counselor whose attempts to fix a struggling couple’s relationship take a dark and dangerous turn. While the couple hasn’t been cast yet, Zeta-Jones appears to be playing a complex, potentially villainous role, similar to Octavia Spencer’s character in Ma. Variety describes the plot as follows:

Netflix Is About To Lose One of the Best Thrillers of All Time

As a critic, I have to say David Fincher’s Zodiac is a truly gripping film, and it’s been great to see it available on Netflix since November. But sadly, that won’t last much longer. This masterpiece, starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Mark Ruffalo, and Robert Downey Jr., is leaving the platform on February 17th. It’s a fascinating, almost obsessive look at the real-life hunt for the Zodiac killer in the San Francisco Bay Area during the late 60s and early 70s, and it really centers on one man – a quiet cartoonist – who lets the case consume him, putting both his family and his mental state at risk as he desperately tries to solve the mystery.
