The third season of Spy x Family has finished airing, with episodes focusing on Anya and giving fans a deeper look into her character. While it’s still unknown if a fourth season will be made, the series is continuing to expand its reach. In Japan, a live-action adaptation is being created, retelling key storylines from the anime, including those featuring Twilight and the Thorn Princess. Additionally, details have emerged regarding a second live-action stage play adaptation of Spy x Family.
The second stage play of Spy x Family will be titled “Bomb Dog & Cruise Ship.” “Bomb Dog” highlights the character Bond Forger, the family dog with the power to foresee the future – a power only Anya Forger can perceive through her psychic abilities. “Cruise Ship” refers to a storyline focused on Yor Forger, where she must embrace her past as an assassin to safeguard a princess from a group of attackers. The play will cover events from both seasons one and two of the anime and a new promotional image has been released, with performances scheduled for September of next year.

Bad News For The Forgers

While fans are eagerly awaiting news about a fourth season, it’s unlikely to be announced or released in 2026. An event is planned for November of next year in Japan, bringing together the anime’s voice actors after the live-action show. This event, tied to Spy x Family: Extra Mission II, may offer clues about the anime’s future. Given that the studios Wit and CloverWorks haven’t shared any updates, they may be pausing before revealing details at this event.
Although a fourth season of Spy x Family isn’t coming immediately, it’s highly likely the show will return eventually. If the anime continues to follow the manga, season four will probably adapt the “Wheeler Arc,” focusing on Twilight, and the “Term Finals Arc,” which will highlight Anya’s adventures. The “Love And War Arc” could also be included, but past seasons suggest each new season of Spy x Family usually features two major story arcs. Fortunately, the manga creator, Tatsuya Endo, is still writing new chapters, meaning there’s potential for many more anime seasons in the future.
