Bumblebee and Cliffjumper were two of the most popular small Autobots from the original Transformers series. Now, a new action figure set will recreate these characters with updated designs that stay true to their classic looks.
I recently checked out Takara Tomy’s Transformers Missing Link C-09 Cybertron Hero Set, and it’s a cool two-pack that reimagines classic characters. They’ve taken the best design elements from different versions of Bumblebee and Cliffjumper to create updated action figures – a real throwback for long-time fans. You can already pre-order them, and they’re expected to ship in Spring 2026.
Transformers Revives First Versions of Bumblebee & Cliffjumper in New ‘Missing Link’ Release

The Transformers Missing Link C-09 Cybertron Hero Set includes updated versions of Bumblebee and Cliffjumper figures. This series reimagines classic toys with modern design and more posability, offering fans the figures they always wanted from the original 1984 line.
So far, we’ve seen characters like Sunstreaker and others reimagined as Autobots. Just like in the original series, Cliffjumper’s toy is based on Bumblebee’s design. Bumblebee transforms into a cartoonishly small Volkswagen Beetle, and Cliffjumper, staying true to the classic style, is a similarly compact Porsche 924. This accurately reflects the short and stout proportions of their original toys, which were originally released as repainted action figures.
This iteration features a unique twist, echoing a different interpretation of the original G1 Autobots. These versions of Cliffjumper and Bumblebee – known as Cliff and Bumble in Japan – have been subtly redesigned with new head sculpts, departing from the original toy designs and instead aligning with their appearances in the animated series.
I’m really excited about the new Autobots! They’ve updated the colors to be much more like the original cartoon, with more yellow and red on their backs. They’ve even made the limbs match the cartoon designs, and Cliffjumper’s weapons are now grey instead of shiny chrome. Bumblebee comes with a small blaster, but Cliffjumper’s got that and a huge bazooka! They’re up for pre-order now around $95, depending on where you look, and we should be seeing them hit shelves in April 2026.
